Title: A few quick pointers for getting foobar2000 playing
Post by: Rand al Thor on May 22, 2007, 07:31:42 pm
Basically what it says; I've got foobar, I want to arrange my media library/music by artist/album/track, I've had a look a the wiki, I'm confused.

If anyone thinks I'm being lazy, fair nuff, cause I didn't actually spend much time on the wiki. Mainly because I didn't have a clue where to star. If you think foobar is overkill for just playing some music, fair nuff, cause obviously I know very little about it's capabilities. If you want to help, fair play, cause I need it.

If the first reply is 'You're lazy, look at the wiki' I'll eat your brain.

Thank you and goodnight.

IMO foobar is as simple or as complex as you like. Some of the configs they have in the forums are really nice.

Anyway, first set up your Media Library in Preferences, then you can go through the Album List through Album, Artist, Genre, Year, etc.

Right, I'm doing that now.

I'm sure I went to do exactly that a couple of times previously and was unable to even get as far as scanning my music directory. It's a piece of piss. I guess I really was being lazy.

And sizzler, if you've got eyes, I'll eat them. They're part of the brain. Close enough. Pluck them out and mail them to Rand 'Randy Goat' al'Thor, Ireland. All the postmen have heard of me so they'll get here.

I suggest you try ColumnsUI (http://www.uq.edu.au/~zziwilki/fb2k.png).
