how can i install the patch. its so wierd.

Which patch? Do you refer to the SCP? The Inferno R1 patch? The Sol: A History Patch? The... ... .. .. . ... :p

the FreeSpace: The Great War (also works for TST) v1.06 patch or was it v1.6 patch the one on that is here http://www.volition-inc.com/fs/downloads.cfm

Play the port, no need for the patch, better graphics, better play.

Don't forget, there's also the 106 - 106EAX patch
