Title: Problem by Thrusters and NEED HELP by a new FS2 MOD

Hi

Sorry for my terrible english i´m a german speaker.

I need help.
We make a Battletech Aerotech MOD based on FS2 SCP Engine.

My problem is i will configuratet the figther models and i have no idea i can include a Thrusterspoints or Dockingports.

I hope you can help me by my problems.

My tools are ModelView32 this is the only tool who i can work with the high poly models there was possible in FS2 SCP.

I hope i become help by my problem.

I'm sure someone will cover this, but in modelview, you need to add a thrusterpoint.

If you mean how do thrusters show in game; Then you need to add the thruster texture to the thruster LOD in the original .cob(level of detail) name into the model before you convert it to a pof.

Colonel, you're telling him how to do the old way of thrusters, correct?
Nowadays, all you need to do is open the model up in PCS, and just add the thruster point and input the radius wherever you want it (use Modelview to find the correct coordinates).

Also, do you mean thrusters as in the big engine thrusters, or the small maneuvering thrusters?

You could ask Wing Commander Saga team.. if you want instructions in German that is.

In general i think you ought to use PCS for actual conversion and value editing and Modelview.. well.. for viewing the model...

Textured thrusters are ancient history (i hope)

Theres give two thrusters?
I mean the big Thursters and Manoveur Thrusters.
The PCS is a good tool i work with it.
The Problem is PCS dont open the high poly models there was possible with the SCP Engine.
Her the polycount what is possible with SCP Engine:

Fighters/Bombers - Less than 6000 Polygons

Cruisers/Freighters - 6000-12000 Polygons

Corvettes - 14000-18000 Polygons

Destroyers - 20000-24000 Polygons

Juggernauts - 24000 Polygons upwards

The PCS dont open this models there have more then 500 Polys.
This is my problem.
How make the Thrusters by models without PCS?

Where can my help from WING COMMANDER TEAM?

you probibly have an old version of pcs. ive converted models up to 15000 polys. i think the current version is 1.3.6 build 73. i have no clue where to download it from. but then again pcs 2 is pretty much right around the corner.

I use PCS 1.2.00 Build 58, and I can get ships with over 5000 polys to work. I can't find the downloads for PCS anymore either, so if you need it feel free to download it from my FTP space. I'm sure Hunter won't mind because it's only 781K. :nod:

Sorry no PCS show me to the models.
I can´t work with this.

Modles under 500 Polys are show in PCS and i can work it.


I need help her by the AEROTECH MOD.
Is a user her there will help us?
He must make the subsystems and points at Figthers and other models.

For PCS: When you use it remember to kill the render window (SDL_app) when you do not need it (for example you do not need it when loading POFs)
