Hello everyone! I'm new to the forums and relatively new to Freespace 2. I've run up against an issue, though, and I don't think it has yet been mentioned on the forums, so I'm seeking a solution.
On Campaign 7, Mission 1 - Fog of War, I go through the briefing fine, but as soon as I hit the commit button, the graphics lock up. From the sound I can hear, the game is still responsive to controls, but the screen is locked on the briefing. I have tired running it without mediavps, with and without the -jpgtga argument, and also with or without -novbo.
I am running the game on Mac OS 10.4.9, with a 2.33ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2g of RAM, a 256mb ATI Radium x1600, and running FS2_open version 3.6.9 with mediavps installed and retail data files. If any more data or specs are needed, I will be happy to provide.

Anyways, IIRC, that mission is the first one with nebulas in it. Anyways, a couple of things to try:
1. Try turning of mediavps and seeing if it works.
2. Try running a debug build and posting FreeSpace2/data/fs2_open.log

It appears to be having problems with the nebula. As to why it's trying to exit the mission after that, I'm not sure. The mission code isn't something I'm familiar with yet. Perhaps Taylor or someone could help.

I had this same problem - turn off the -env flag (environment mapping) for this mission and everything should be fine. You can turn the -env flag back on for other missions.
