Kamrads! Can you tell me how to switch off a smoke in beta 3.4???
-
You mean the smoke spew from damaged ships? You can't really. Though you could try extracting the .vp and removing the file. But would probably just prompt an error message.
Or try lowering the effects quality in the options screen. But that would probably just... umh... lower the visual quality. :nervous:

Yes I mean the smoke spew from damaged ships. May be this is a problem of my video-card, but this smoke is white and comp is braking than it’s spew …

Ok! Thank you. I`ll try the second way - lowering the effects quality.

do you see white squares instead of the smoke?

Oh yeah. That can be fixed.

Yes reading the installation instructions tends to work.

Yes, I saw white squares instead of the smoke. What does it mean?
-
I`m not the smartest one here, so bear with me. :D
I had that problem some months ago... Can`t seem to remember what I did exactly to fix it... :( :sigh:
Not sure if this is the problem but, are you running in Direct 3D8 in the video tab of the launcher?
If so, you may want to try OpenGL instead..
I may be wrong, but its worth a try. :nervous:
(edit) If the above fails to work, what are your pc specs?

just as Whitelight said this appears when you are running TBP on D3D (which tents to be troublesome without fixing) - use OpenGL instead
if you can't run Open GL for any reason I can provide you with the needed info to get TBP running without major issues (alhtough it is like a step back in terms of graphical quality)

Many thanks to you! You are absolutely right! I forgot about graphic properties in launcher!
Thanks for all.

I'd love if you'd provide me this info - because due to the problem i posted in the "explosion's collateral dmg" thread i must use D3D (Intel Graphics Card Issue).
A Tip perhaps: when using build 3.6.9 in D3D the program crashed - so i tried the Wing Commander Saga build with TBP 3.4 and it worked - except for the white squares...
