Title: WC Snakier.
Post by: Scooby_Doo on May 27, 2007, 02:36:48 am
Pre-alpha blocky Snakier Getter Robo was asking about around Christmas time.  Mind you theres no real detailing yet, don't want to do detailing only to delete the whole section over.

Is that going to be used in Saga?

No, but nothing is preventing you from adding it to missions :)
Actually I did quite of bit of the work just tonight. I kinda forgot about it.  It was last mentioned on Christmas day, course two days latter I went in to have 3 teeth removed.  So I kinda forgot about a lot of things. LOL heaven knows what else.

As with all WC cap ships, I think they were a little high when they thought up the size numbers.  No way this thing could launch anything bigger than a medium fighter, hence the reworked nose.

How many fighters is that supposed to carry?

Honestly I'm not sure.  I've reclassified it as a cruiser, due to it's menacing appearance and the fact it doesn't have a whole lot of internal space (flight decks, repair decks... etc).  Cat fighters are a major pain for me, mainly due to their width.  Launch bays have to be extra wide for them.

Yeah.. i was thinking that too.. it seems rather small.

Heh, knew keeping the torch alive that someone would look into this would be fruitful... :)

Is coming along better than I though with the old Scooby touch.

As you know Scooby, I'm no friend of the WC2 Design, but it's shaping up quite nice here :) But I would do something about those strange side wings and round up some edges around the bridge part and the mainhull on both hangarsides, it could improve the model even more :)

Which version A, B, or C, (and I thnk theres a D, not sure on that one)?

A was the TV series, B and C were in the P.O.D. Movie.

I can't see it myself though...

Hey Scoob, do you use some sort of specific scene when you're taking glory shots of your ships? You don't really have that for this thread yet as the model isn't finished. But in other threads, like the new model thread you've got like sort of the same view of all the ships in a specific environment with the name modelled underneath. I was just curious if it was like a . . . .option for whatever software you're using, or if you set up sort of a "display scene", with fancy lighting, etcetera and imported each model into there where you'd take a snapshot or render or whatnot.

I think its he set up the scene and loads othe other models into it or the other way around merging the scene with the models.

Correct, I load up a "scene.max" file which contains the scene and rendering settings, then merge the model into it.

Ah, well it looks super cool man. Something I might emulate in future if I ever get some models finished and textured up.

More people need to jion the Scooby Doo model Fanclub.... Srsly

I could see this being used as a strike carrier. Kinda like a Cat Bengal class, but more geared towards cap battles than fighter projection.

I don't like his models. Don't get me wrong, he has exceptional talent, but I just don't like the WC style.
