The wiki doesn't say, but... these are americans, right?
Figures. :doubt:

Another globally insignificant movement whose ideas make no sense. Instead of fighting for the mother earth, they just die out for the mother earth. Our heroes...

"So, how do you plan to perpetuate this group beyond a single generation?"
"Obviously, we'll just teach our childr... oh."

I think they should help us all out by being the first ones to execute said extinction plan, then we can go on with our lives happier.  j/k, that wouldn't be nice...  But seriously, just to hijack this thread, (well, sorta) can anyone tell me the area (sq. mi. & sq. km) of the continental US?

*waits with shocking surprise up sleeve*

Continental USA:
7884254 km² and 3044497 sq mi

*waits for surprise* :shaking:

Thing is, that's not the problem.  In most countries that these guys are getting their message to, the birth rate is low enough that these countries will die out eventually.  To be anywhere near successful, you'd have to let India, China, and most of Africa in on this scheme.  It's like preaching to the choir if you only reach France, Italy, and the USA.

Continental USA:
7884254 m² and 3044497 sq mi

*waits for surprise* :shaking:

meh, mistake, point is made better with square meters & square feet, so:

1 square kilometer = 1 000 000 square meter

and

1 square mile = 27 878 400 square foot

I'll take the liberty of converting those figures for you:

7 884 254 * 1 000 000 = 7 884 254 000 000 m²

and

3 044 497 * 27 878 400 = 84 875 705 164 800 sq. ft.

So, the area of the continental US is: 7 884 254 000 000 m² or 84 875 705 164 800 sq. ft.

Next question: (no jumping ahead, here):  What's the population of the world?  Well, according to http://www.ibiblio.org/lunarbin/worldpop , it is 6 800 000 000 (roughly).  I'm feeling generous.  Let's say 10 000 000 000.

Now, if you threw every last human being on Earth onto the continental US, how many sq. ft. / m² would each individual person have at their disposal?

Heh, heh.  OK, how much arable farm land does it take to feed 100 people?

You could just have robotic planes fly over making joughurt drops.

The biggest problem I see is that how the hell are you going to get the entire worlds population in to continental US? Manly those millions and millions who don't wan't to be there...

No, no... I'm making a point, not suggesting something.

the "you can fit everyone into texas" argument, as good as it sounds from the political science 101 textbook, fails to mention how resource hungry some of as are. if every one of 6 billion people had access  to the so called american dream, a house a couple cars, was for them, computers for everybody, cell phones, a space program, food, electricity ect. all that stuff that we as americans takes for granted. then some people would be wondering why theyre living in a box, living on a taco a day, and have to ride the bus to their 16 hour job.

the materials required for theese things cant all be extracted from anywhere. when it comes right down to it theres not enough of those resources for everyone to have as much as we do. sure the world might be able to support a trillion people, but as you have a larger quantity of anything, the quality of those things diminishes. in the case of people, quality of life is reduced to ****. well except for whover happens to live in the main world power at the time, who will ***** about how much their life sucks dispite the fact that they live better than 99% of th e rest of the world.

now i cant say for sure wether the earth is over populated beyond its means to support. one would have to add up all the resources we have, all the people, and countless other variabvles. but i dont like people and i have no problem with cults, hippies and vegans looking to reduce the human population. i simply feel that nukes would be alot more effietient a means to slaughter the masses.

Yes we all know how much better people you are than those so called emos. You with your flower ****ing happy lives and piles of money and a great job with a seat ready in heaven.

Well don't bring your mother****ing superiority here. As I recall there already is one emo bashing thread. So take your cheerful ****faces there and keep this one on topic.

Let them die. I'll go along and happily produce enough children for five families.

Woah, issues. Well, you may be right: Back on topic.

Nuke is right on the money. If you're posting on this board, it's safe to say your standard of living would be too much for the planet to handle if everyone lived like you. Fun little exercise: Go to one of those eco-calculator sites that allows you to calculate your ecological footprint on the world, and how many Earths it would take to support humanity living at your standard. It's a real eye-opener to realise that it would take four ****ing Earths to have everyone living like me.

Maybe once we colonise Gleise 517c we can get extravagant about bringing everyone up to the same standard of living. But until then, some people need to say poor.
