Hi Guys, After reading about the Battlestar Galactica conversion that has been done for FS2, I am quite keen to try it. After doing some searching Ive stumbled across this site, and You guys seem to know about FS2. So I have noticed some links here to get a FS2 open installer and some more saying download FS2 here. Sorry if its seems a stupid question but could someone tell me, Which things I need to download to get the most out of FS2 and its mods. Of Course the 1st would be if the links on here are for the Full Game and if so Does downloading the full game here work or will it require the original Cd's to run. Also any patches and Mods that you guys would recommend for the best possible experience would be greatfully received. Thanks for any advice in advance and sorry for such stupid questions, But There seems to be a whole list of versions/ mods out there and I need to make sure I get the right one :)

The installer comes with SCP and all the classic campaigns. That should be "enough". As Turey calls it, the "absolute idiot's" way to upgrade FS. So yes, it was a noob question, but thanks for asking. We're happy to help.

Well first let me point out that you don't need FS2 in order to play Beyond the Red Line (the BSG mod) so if you're only getting it for that you're wasting your time as it will completely ignore your FS2 install and place itself in its own folder.
However FS2 is an excellent game in its own right so I'd suggest getting both. The link Mustang posted is a little old so I'd start with FS2 here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,42854.0.html). The installer gives you some of the best FS2 campaigns released so you've got plenty to play there before you need to go looking for anything else FS2 related. :)

Hrm... don't forget to check out Wing Commander Saga (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/board,46.0.html) and The Babylon Project (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/board,105.0.html), they are in the same category as BtRL (they are standalone, independent of FS2). ;)
