Title: Catching up with things...Online gaming possible???
Post by: DarkDeity on June 06, 2007, 06:31:41 am
Hi I just installed FS2 open (Thanks for the link btw!) and am just about to open her up.
Anyway my question is in regards to online gaming. In many respects I'm old to playing FS2 and FS since as everyone here clearly agrees it is among the best games for PC. I tried following old posts to discover how players where meeting via web but ended up lost. Any help would rock.
By the way, do "modders" get paid to make campaigns such as Inferno? Not that I see a financial opportunity because I don't even bother opening FRED, but some of the mods I've found on these forums are outstanding. Inferno in particular, well done Woomeister  you got a fan  :D

:welcome:

You can find a checklist to set up FS2 for online gaming on Game Warden (http://www.game-warden.com/forum/showthread.php?t=267 (http://www.game-warden.com/forum/showthread.php?t=267)). Also, there is a board dedicated to multiplayer both here and on Game Warden.

Modders don't get paid to make campaigns, when the source code was released it was said that nothing FS-related could be sold.
However, if you want, you can make donations to HLP/GW to support server expenses (both HLP and GW share the same server now).

Unfortunately not many people play FS2 Multiplayer, although if you're a fan of Battlestar Galactica, the Beyond the Red Line mod on GW has a decent multi following.
