So where's ya all going?
I'm off to Malia on Friday for two weeks. :pimp:
-
There's no point for me to go anywhere because currently is so damn hot here that laying on a couch is enough work to break a sweat. And I got enough of cold and snow during the winter, so no desire to travel north. So I just plan to stay right here and explore the marvels of apathy. Of course that's so sweaty business I have to occasionally do some swimming in the marvelously cool lake.
If this keeps on going, we'll going to have one hell of a thunderstorm.
-
Working, so shaddup about all the fun you're about to have :p
-
I'm going to Bulgaria to watch dragonflies (and maybe birds and butterflies as well). Oh, and their wine is apparently very, very cheap.
-
*coughs*
Glastonbury (Glastonbury, UK) Festival - June 20 / 24th
Benicassim (Benicassim, Spain) Festival - July 18 / 24th
I don't think I'm going on another holiday - but those should be enough :)
-

Working ain't so bad. You see, money can be exchanged for goods and services.
Case in point: By working these holidays, i'll have more than enough cash to blow on a rig to run next-gen games smooth as butter. Finally, I shall no longer languish in the archaic technology of 3 years ago!

Swedish Girls with no Bikinis, atleast thats what I am hoping for
-
Windermere with the wife in August, a nice week walking by the lakes sounds pretty appealing at the moment, well, so do Swedish girls in bikinis, but I'm not sure Sharon would approve ;)
-
It's winter, so I'll be taking my tax return money and heading back to Darwin for a week or two in the tropical sun. It's the very peak(s) of backpacker season - the place will be going mental.
-
I am in marching band, and in order to free up more schedule time, I'm taking summer school. So actually I have less free time than I would in the winter.

I'm going there with the gf in July.

/me is about to log off for two weeks
I may suffer withdrawals from the intarweb!
Bye all!
-
I get almost 3 weeks of vacation and its incredibly sad that I haven't figured out what to do with that time. Would like to go on vacation...just have zero interest in figuring out where.
-
Here's hoping to get away for a fortnight in mid July! If the money works out right and we can find a good last minute deal, we hope to go back to Pefkos in Rhodes (Greece) where the wife and I got married nearly six years ago, (and to where we returned for our fifth anniversary last year and discovered we really did like the place better than every where else we had been since).
-
I planned to go to the Paris - Le Bourget aerospace salon, but it's right during my high school exit exams
-
working my ass off so i can afford to do nothing all winter.

Well it's has been booked, three weeks today we shall be there. Probably arriving just about now, all set for a fortnight of sun, sand and ouzo.
-
Summer school until the 27th, which is coincidentally the day I start working..
-
If anyone of you decides to go the Croatia for a holliday, drop by a small town Baška Voda, and I'll be more than glad to show you around :D
-
Washington D.C. for the 4th of July.
Then a "vacation" to Lackland AFB in San Antonio for the rest of summer.
-
I'm going to Houston on the 8th, until the 17th. Then, from there, I am going to Washington DC to visit the Smithsonian again. I hope to be working (the editor I have been talking to hasn't gotten me the paperwork) over summer on computers.

SUMMER SCHOOL SUCKS!!! [/shout]
Last time I ever try to get ahead of the game in school :doubt:...
-
That can actually be very useful in some situations. I took two summer classes last year and am glad I did. I wouldn't have been able to graduate in three years without them.
They were a bit of a hassle, but only two days a week (although almost six hours each day) and the work was fairly light. The main downside was the stupid university charging triple the normal tuition for them, and my scholarships weren't covering them at all. :p

Awesome! I'll have my grandmother bring a fruitcake to your house. :P (She also lives in Princeton.)
Anyways, I'll be in Ocean City, NJ for a week starting on July 21st, and somewhere in Maine for a week starting on August 11th.

Once you get to college, I think you'll change your mind.

I'll be taking (for the most part) good classes in collage, though. You see, basically what I do now is I get to either run or swim for about 40 minutes (I did 3 1/4 miles today!), then do book work for personal fitness, then I get to go to a two hour long health class. At the very least, I'll be able to take real classes during the actual school year.
-
Currently down in Socorro, New Mexico taking a summer course at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology; will be back in Albuquerque by Friday. Next Tuesday I head up to Denver until the beginning of August. Taking two weeks of Computer Gaming courses at the University of Denver, and two weeks just hangin' out with my dad. School starts August 14 (I think) but will be playing video games non-stop from whenver I return to Albuquerque. Sounds like fun :nervous:.

Don't you get PE credit for band? At my high school we got both PE and Art credit for it, a pretty sweet deal.
-
I get to go to Montreal for the CJ (Canadian Jamboree) later this month, and I am currently at my grandparents house in Cape Breton. :D
-
I'm leavin on Sunday for a 10-day forum on medicine.

We get a half PE credit for two years of Marching Band (:doubt:), but that still leaves one semester. And we get an art credit for taking day (concert) band, but not marching band.

Cool. Is she affiliated with the university by any chance? I have heard that the town revolves around it, to some degree. It's what I am going there for.

Just for those who don't live near Washington DC. Which includes everyone. This Fourth of July we had like 4 different tornadoes pop up around Washington. The mall was supposedly "evacuated", although nothing bad happened, and AFAIK the celebration still happened. With a much lower turnout, I assume.
Which is very strange, since last year DC didn't have a 4th of July celebration either. It was rained out.
The end of the world is coming, HLPBB... I knew it, Dick Cheney was the antichrist. :nervous:

Except me. :p I heard about the evacuations but hadn't gone over there myself anyway.

Was??

Buh-bye! I'll be back on the 17th!

Not particularly, actually. All it did was make me go back to the hotel for a few hours (I'd spent most of the day at the Folk Fest anyway, particularly enjoying the N. Ireland part). I just caught the surprisingly uncrowded metro back to the mall after it was over and caught the fireworks. :p

It was still a pretty good turnout. The entire grounds around the Washington Monument were filled up, as were the streets closest to the monument. The Mall was pretty crowded too (curse you Dierks Bentley!), though my family got pretty close. I wouldn't be surprised if typical July 4th turnout is much better than that, though.

:bump:
Just to, for the lack of a better word, boast my crappy summer, I will post my week's schedule.
6:30am wake up
7:05am leave for school
7:30am school starts (Personal Fitness and health)
12:30pm lunch
1:30pm marching band
4:00pm dinner
5:00pm marching band
8:30pm homework
9:00pm another dinner; then whatever I feel like it.
I bet $30 that my summer is the worst one here.
