always loved watching that orion (IIRC it's the Galatea, right?) get owned by the Lucy :P
-
It's not the Galatea and lets not start all that up again. :p
-
A most excellent video. I applaud you.
My only gripe is that the music from the original cutscene is audible in one or two parts, and the voices are a tad hard to hear.
Also: where did you find that music??? I have searched everywhere for that version of Requiem, and have not ever found it. Obviously there's somewhere I'm not looking. Please point me in the right direction?
-
Bastion. BTW, that dud that posted the dude that posted the Google vid needs to learn how to mute / unmute the volume on the original vid soundtrack.. some of that sounded aweful. Otherwise, ok...
EDIT: Oh... Ryan, you made that? I though you were just linking to it because you downloaded it. Eh, what are you using to mix the videos?
-
Windows movie maker(ewww)
i could not help it, it was either all vioces or no voices. I choose the one taht i though twas cooler :)
anyway, here is another one of mine that i just uploaded:

That background music sounds very familiar. Anybody know what it is?
*reads posts: so it's requiem? what?
EDIT: You know what? I think the marching band I'm in is using that song as our opener ...
-
It's a more dramatic version of the song "Requiem for a Dream", the theme for the movie of the same name. I've never been able to track down the dramatic version though... to my great regret.
-
If this truely is the song that I think it is, if you want, I'll upload my marching band's version once I get a decent recording :).
-
I found the dramatic version in some obscure folder on my hard drive.
Uploaded...

Could you upload the source video? Say, to FileFront? And also the audio as a separate file. Then maybe I can wrangle something out of it. If I can, I'll let you know how I did it.

VirtualDub is pretty versatile free video editing program... and VirtualDubMod even moreso.
-
I have VirtualDub. What is VirtualDubMod?
-
VirtualDubMod is an open source video capture and linear processing tool for Microsoft Windows. It is based on Avery Lee's VirtualDub, and is licensed under the GPL. VirtualDubMod is hosted on SourceForge and is at version 1.5.10.2 (released 29 August 2005). Version 1.5.10.2 build 2542 was released on 21 February 2006. The development of the tool seems to be abandoned. [1]
Compared to VirtualDub, VirtualDubMod has many more features as it is the merging of several specialized versions of VirtualDub that were written for various tasks. Added features include Matroska support, MPEG-2 support, and Ogg Theora support.
(...)
Although I have to say, VirtualDub is being developed whereas VirtualDubMod is apparently abandoned... and there's just been a new beta release of VirtualDub so i dunno which would be better - I have both but haven't really used them a whole lot yet.
-
Theora support would make it very useful though as it would allow you to make cutscenes which work in-game.
-
Tell me, why whenever I search Google Video for this, it returns no results?
-
shows up for me
-
Very nice video, just saw it not even 5 minuter ago.
-
I liked the video, but the song, is frankly, rather overused. Still, I applad your effort.

Here is the FSOpen installer.
You'll probably need OpenAL.

Hello that video si pretty good, I've been inspirated by that video and yesterday I made my own version:
FreeSpace Compilation - Requiem for a Dream (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pblgNaVTxoI)
Few months ago I made my the first FS compilation, you can see here:
FreeSpace Compilation - Armageddon Theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQoHR2e_EV8)
:)

Maybe because there is a small typo in the title, "Requim".
Anyway, cool video. But be careful, people bash each other here when someone uses this music in a fs video ( check the STR trailer thread... :X )
It's always great to see FS2 has its fans ;)
And I like the axelwers vid too, great timing.
-
Yeah, I noticed that a few days after I posted that message. Moot point now that it's on Youtube, under a different (and correctly spelled) name.
Also:
:necro:
-
I was hoping someone WOULDN'T do that yesterday...
But today I saw he quoted your post from last year. :)

Completely agree. Perhaps you should try something a bit more esoteric
