Title: Shivan's Pack and Derelict SCP
Post by: Javito1986 on June 11, 2007, 09:18:10 pm
Little background - long time FS enthusiast, I keep up with progress here often. Currently out of the United States but I brought my laptop with me where I have Shivan's big (and great) download pack containing FS1, FS2, Derelict SCP, Transcend, etc using I believe the 3.6.7 build.

Got everything running pretty stable, some odd problems with the FS1 Port debugger but nothing that impedes me from playing. The real trouble is that when I select DerelictSCP from the mod directory in the launcher, I get Derelict with retail graphics and I've been spoiled by SCP so retail graphics just won't do. anyone know why this is and what I can do to upgrade them? Hopefully it doesn't involve downloading anything, my net connection isn't so good here.

To get the upgraded content from the MediaVPs while playing a mod, you'll have to list their directory as a secondary mod directory.  One method of doing this is by manually adding ",mediavps" (where mediavps is the name of your SCP mod directory; it should be set to that in the download you used, I believe) right after "-mod derelict" in the command line in the Launcher.  A much simpler way of doing so is through the use of a mod.ini file, which allows you to set secondary mod directories to be automatically used when you select a mod.  I've attached a .zip file with a mod.ini file (and a corresponding launcher graphic) for Derelict; just unzip it to your Derelict mod directory, and you should be good to go.

That did it, many thanks Mongoose. I can always count on this place for all my Freespace troubles.
