Uhm...I know this will sound stupid, but how can I tell which version of Freespace 2 Open I am using?
I am using version 5.3 of the launcher.
I got it in SCP Pack v1.5c by ShivanSpS
UPDATE: I think I'm using 3.6.8.
Does this mean I have to re-download everything to use version 3.6.9 and re-install everything? Or is there a patch to just patch the game data without losing my pilot stats?
Also:
Is there anywhere I can download 3.6.8? I have forgotten where I downloaded my copy of it and I want to be able to play multiplayer games with my brother.

Open the launcher and look in the target box at the top (next to the "Browse" button). That is the build of FSOpen you're using.
And to upgrade to 3.6.9, you just download the 3.6.9 builds, put 'em in your Freespace folder, then select them with the Launcher. No re-installation or other annoying crap to deal with. No pilot stats will be lost, no saved games will be lost.
3.6.9 can be found here. (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,44291.0.html)

Also, in case the version is not obvious from the name of the executable, the bottom-left of the main hall displays the version number.

Uhm...how do I get stop -decals loading? I can't seem to get rid of them.
-
In the launcher. Check the features tab and see what is in the custom flags box.

You should know that the current version of SCP Pack by ShivanSps is 1.9c and version 2.0 will be out soon as well.

In the launcher. Check the features tab and see what is in the custom flags box.
I've done that, -decals is still active for some reason and I can't get rid of it.
-
they have -decals in that version of FSO? do they have it in 3.6.9?

Open the launcher6.ini file from your main folder in notepad and remove the -decals section. Do not touch anything else in that file though.
