Blah!
Another render...
You can probably tell how bored I'm starting to get.
Hell, I even signed up with DA (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)
Anyway....

that's a lot of particles (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
I think it's really time you improve your planets anyway, since you seem to have mastered about everything else (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Good attempt on the explosoins, but they remind me too much of MS Paint's "Spraypaint" function..
-
Schweeeeeet. I disagree with Alikchi about the particles. They look good.

Need to be denser around the center of the blast- another, smaller emitter in the same spot should cover it (if you wanna get really fancy, one with much larger particles, for the "cloud of fire" look). If LW has the function, miht wanna give the particles a motion blur, too.
Phreaky.

Mmmmmmmmmm. Delenn.

So do I: for me that's not explosions ( not yet), but the sparks while the beams tears through the hull, just before they get to critical stuff or dig a hole in a corridor (and then ---> air---> boum! )

This is still a WIP.
Theres too many polys in that scene for my comp.
I'm going to add more beams when I get my Athlon running...

*low evil voice* dont you dare diss the spraypaint funtion (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/mad.gif)

Wonderful render... just one thing maybe make a bit more explosive-explosions... you know ones that look a bit more destructive (beams prolly should do lot o' damage) my 2 cents... happy rendering ;)

Cool render dude i like the particals but i don't like the planet very much but great work !:)

funny, sometimes, you post stuff, I really imagine a robot would write exactly the same way :p

Add some sort of explosion bitmap ontop of the explosion particle effect...I think that may help....the beams could stand to be thicker, but the color and brightness is excellent.
-
I also like the light setup as you see on the back of the Sharlin

So now you wanna be a smart ass huh!?!?!?!??!?!

You say that like its a bad thing...

/me likes. :) I agree with Ice, get a (small) explosion bitmap in there somewhere. It shouldn't encompass the entire ship, maybe just the forward section.
