Does it exist?
If not, Aldo do I have your permission to butcher you model in a attempt to HTLize it?
I kinda need a vasudan carrier for my campaign and Tennen fits rather nice, only it's underdetailed..
B.t.w. - anyone can recomed some other good vasudan larger ships (corvettes, destroyers and bigger) that I cna use for my vasudan forces or that I can edit to be HOL...

There is one, but it's not smoothed properly so looks crap with lighting. You could try smooth it yourself. It's here (http://www.fileplanet.com/dl.aspx?/3dactionplanet/hlp/hosted/fsport/newtanen.zip)*.

Hm...better, but still not quite the lvl of detail I'm looking for.
I may end up using it to save time if nothing else...
hehe and out of boredom I allready started to add detail the the normal Tannen :D

There's also a downsized version of the Tannen, which is a corvette called the Pachet. Its in Inferno R1.

Not sure, think it was the size of a superdestroyer (3km).

Wel,, no harm in DLing it anyway...
I'll have to decide if I'll use it in any way or form...prolly will since I'm lazy as hell and I still need a HOL corvette..a bit of re-sizing and tinkering might do the trick.

So far I extended the grey light section to the front, added real engines and indents to the sides, as well on the front side thingies, made some intake-like things on the front and added a beveled strip of hull&windows that goes all the way on the top and bottom.
Thinking on what to add next..
B.t.w. - fighterbay was broken..some vertex are faces were totaly FUBAR...

It looks pretty nice, but the fighter bay arms now look kind of fat, and it's spelled GVCa Tanen, not GVCar Tannen.

The strange this is that I havn't changed the width or length of the fighterbay arms...aside from making that window strip go to their end.
*CORRECTION - I moved the window stip on the front by 1% to the side!

Use the Udjat. The old version may not look great, but it'll do as a placeholder while you write the campaign.

EDIT: Actually, the Geb's mapping may look a bit too state-of-the-art for a rebel organisation integrating Shivan tech into their ships.

Udjat is/was propretary for Scroll.
Also GalEmp was supposedly working on a nicer Tanen version for the Scroll. No word from him in months however.

The Pachet is Inferno R1's mini-Tanen (corvette size).

It's nowhere near as pretty as the new version, but at the very least it's got a fighterbay and is a decent placeholder.

Forgot, the model has what appears to be a turret submodel that was mistakenly fused to the model itself, making it useless. I hope you wouldn't choose to incorporate that error in any redux of the model.

TrashMan, can you please double check your Tanen for geometry errors? Apparently GE's one had a few errors with the fighterbay.

A few? How about a dozen? On the fighterbay alone...
It had excess polys on several other places that would proly cause errors...Fixed it all and made it prettier :D
Ran out of more ideas for improvement ATM tough... :(

I'm adding in my stuff...slowly... I don't want to add other peoples stuff since I don't want to imput wrong data.
But in reality we don't even NEED full data - a pic, short description and download link is all that's reayll needed.

I was thinking either manually adding a few more lines to it (drawing vertex on both sides of the ship will be a bi***) or smiply using the smooting PCS build (alltough that won't do much).

Also for this model, could you keep the textures down to a minimum on this model? Having too many textures causes HTL slowdown.

By a minimum I mean less than maybe five or six (might be hard but please do it).

Are the engines modelled in? They look trick, plus I like that green engine glow. I find them much better-looking compared to those flat whitey textures on the Hybrid's engines.
Rest of the model, well the colours make it look really off to me, but live and let be.

Polycount? 1477 polys. Engines are modeled in, has some indents and recesses that you can't see very well wihout good lightning
Textures? The same as the stock Tanen +3 (green engines, bluish windows and yellowish strips), alltough I'm looking at reducing this...

Well IMO those grey/white stripe thingies that "encase" the side turrets don't go with the two brownish colours (which in turn makes the ship look old and dated for some reason or another). Your hybrid destroyer release definitely has the better colouring to me.
Or maybe I haven't seen the original Tanen in a long time and this is the first time I'm actually looking at "it" (not the exact same model, but you get the idea) up close. I understand that this stuff isn't all that easy though, so I can ignore rather than complain about the little details.
EDIT: Spelling mistakes fixed...??? Wasn't even 8am when I typed the original post, and here I am, lacking sleep.

You mean the gey-white light strips?
I could replace them all with yellow lights like on the back..that would reduce the textue count by 1 to boot....

No I like the gay white light strips. :P (seriously, I do)
Please use stock only textures for this, it's not that hard and it would make it easy to install. Just replace the white ones with the Hatshepsut tile (CapVTile3a), but use some smart mapping to make it display only the light strips and not the weird wires that are next to it.
Also please make the fighterbay texture all one texture, that should knock off a few, I think.

VWindYellowStrip is good for texturing engines (just don't use the yellow part of it) and indents (looks good wether you use the half with the lights or the yellow part)... I used it all ovet the model..
I suppose I could replace it with some other stock texture, just have to see if anyone of them looks good enough in it's place..

Do you use a GeForce 2 or something? I have no performance hit from ships with 12+ textures.

What kind of turrets are you looking for ?
I've made a couple of Vasudan turrets a while ago for something that is now on indefinite hold.
I could offer you a large button-style turret (with a lower LOD), a small button turret and a fixed beam cannon thing (like the Hatshepsut's dorsal cannon). All come with destroyed variants.
