Title: Historical Sidebars
Post by: BlueFlames on July 05, 2007, 08:23:40 pm
Those who forget their past are doomed to repeat it, or so goes the adage used to justify the recording and teaching of history.  Problem is, sometimes events go a little askew of what the historical actors intended.  The result is typically something so monumentally silly that it ends up being relegated to a sidebar, if it ever sees print at all.  It kind of makes you wonder what will show up in the sidebars of history texts, written by the successors of the terrans and vasudans, a hundred years after the GTVA has come and gone....

Will Command's learning disability make the cut?

What about the misadventures of Alpha 1, after being assigned to pick up the slack for the freighter he just failed to single-handedly protect?

This one speaks for itself, though my favorite bit is that there is an argument, however weak, for the canonicity of this event in the FreeSpace universe.

ok, i'm not entirly sure how to take this, if it was meant to be comical, it was pretty funny, but if it was meant to be factual, it made a good point. if it was meant to be both, well, the funny but true facts are the best kind.

No he wasn't.

The Hinton was indirectly destroyed by Bill Gates for not being there.
