Firstly, nice work on the campaign, it's looking great (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
Secondly, I have a quesiton relating to the shield project. I was just wondering how you added the shields? I've been working on a new capship model and I'm not too sure exactly how to go about it - but I definately need shields on it.
Thanks (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

I generated them in Segeltuch and import them onto another copy of the ship (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
I can model them now (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Thanks.
I've already tried Segletuch for a test verison of my model (I need a fairly tight shield, for plot reasons, so i can't really use the oval for the campaign), but the generated pof file was all screwed up. The collision detection on several parts of the ship was screwed up (they worked fine with the unshielded variant) and I could fly throught some large hull secitons. I'm hoping it's just a bug with SG, and my custom shield works ok.
I take it you just use a cylinger / extended sphere for modelling the shields yourself?

Or the hull of the ship if it can be used (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Ok, thanks again. Unfortunately my model is too spiky to use the original hull,so I have to create the shield from the altering original in blender - which is pretty tough (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

I import the lower LODS, they have less detail and usually can be used for shield meshes (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
