Title: my new car
Post by: Stealth on July 09, 2007, 11:20:05 am: Picked this bad boy up on Saturday afternoon. 2005 model, flawless exterior and interior (and i mean 100% flawless... not a problem, you couldn't even tell it had been sat in)

13,xxx miles. still has 4 years and 86,xxx miles left on warranty.

that's the tried-and-true LS6 engine straight out of the corvette z06.

Post by: Stealth on July 09, 2007, 12:42:36 pm: lol i don't know why they sold it. i don't really care either. people sell cars *shrugs*. possibly because a new model came out? whatever the reason, the car is in perfect condition. VIN# checks out clean, the dealer pulled its history up and all service was done on time and by an authorized dealer, etc.

In which case a Ford Focus for £3.5k doesn't seem too bad a deal, depands on how old it is and what mileage it has done! Again how do you know it is a good deal?????? :confused:

retail price on these is $54,000 or so, plus taxes, fees, title transfer, etc.

I got this one for under $35k out the door (including all fees, etc.). Yeah, i know, it's a heck of a lot to spend on a car, but it's one of the few cars i've always wanted, and i figured now was the time to do it.

So even though the price tag is ridiculous, i did get a very good deal...

Cadillac used to only appeal to old people (they were big land yachts, with massive engines that sucked gas like crazy, but didn't accelerate fast)

so then they decided to take tried, true, and award-winning engines primarily from their Chevrolet Corvette Z06 division, and put them into the tried and true CTS chassis. Thus the V-series was born... Cadillac luxury, with performance acceleration.

The CTS-V (400HP), STS-V (469HP supercharged), and XLR-V (443HP supercharged). The CTS-V is set apart from the rest because it was designed and tested on the Nuburgreg (or however it's spelled), so it handles like a European sports car (and i can tell you, after driving it for a few days, that really is true!)

I think it's the car with the most performance out of all of the V series, even though it comes stock with the least HP. It's the only one out of the three that's naturally aspirated, the others are forced induction, so if you put a supercharger on the CTS-V, which many, many people do, you'll be pushing an easy 500+ HP, with no other mods. plus you've got insane handling.

I don't get down that way very often but it is a damn fine car! Need to save up some more money to travel the continent/world :)
