Hello, my mate seems to be having trouble with the training missions in FS1 port. I'm told to press \ to go at max speed and once i've done that nothing happens. No more objectives what so ever. I've told him to re-do the training but same problem.
Also with the advanced training when i order Delta to destroy the carriers engines they shoot at it a few times then just stop. They wont blo it completely and the instructor says nothing.
Anyone else have these problems?
Also, Missing gunship errors etc etc. This is my mate with these errors. He cant even play the game getting weird errors in missions, instead of having to protect that fenris class cruiser he has to protect transports.
I'm getting the feeling something didn't download right at all.

I've seen a case before where someone was pressing / instead of \.
Not sure what the other problems could relate to so I'm moving the topic to the port's forum.

... There were training missions in the port? I don't recall seeing them...

When you go to main game, it starts the first training mission, he hits full speed then nothing happens afterward. I got him playing FS2 until we can figure it out, and he likes the game so far.

IIRC you have to increase the engine energy a couple of times, then it'll work.

Something must be screwed up with the training-context-set-speed event. Apparently the player is being told to go above the Apollo's max speed, which is odd, as this doesn't happen in the original FS1 mission.
So if you want to fix it, all you have to do is lower the context-set-speed number to 60 or so, the Apollo's normal max speed. Or not.

That's correct, I was stuck there for some time. You have to increase engine energy (Page Up key?) or you won't be able to go fast enough to trigger the next event, which like Mustang19 said isn't correct.

He is also having problems that he cant use his guns either.
I reckon something didn't download properly.

Not sure of the guns... but the \ problem is because you have to wait for your ship to crank to max velocity, not just near it... eg, wait till you are going 65 / 65 speed, not 63 / 65... it takes awhile. The same goes for slowing to a complete stop. 0 / 65, not 5 / 65... I'll take a look at this l8r... g2g now.
