Im Making a HTL Miner2t-01 From Scratch-

Get Lithium Unwrap. (i.e. here http://hosted.filefront.com/realityfactory/1645095)
Open the POF with it and save it as *.obj.
Import the obj in Wings.
And that's it. ;)

I'm gonna be blunt, but constructive.
Firstly, you could save quite alot of polys buy building that into the mesh. Use the cut command, to make more verts, or draw your own verts by turning on connect mode in the "tools" menu on the toolbar.
Secondly, just throwing on objects can really make a model unstable, I too modeled this way when I first started, so it happens to most of us. For example, look at the HTL Moloch. I used many objects to add detail and some parts of the model is unstable. If I redid it now I could cut 600+ polys off the total and make it much more stable using what I know now.
It looks good, and is a good start, but play around with the commands "cut" and "connect", if you really want to make it outstanding. :)

Teh teeth are ownage.But i cant do sides.I did the same thin i did with the bottom and top but it had like another layor i couldnt delete. :mad2: :hopping: :mad:

There's only 1 way to settle this:
Copy the table entry for the gas miner, rename it to gas miner-a, FRED a mission with both models dueling it out, and whichever one wins, gets to be stuck into mediavps.
Seriously, they're both good quality models. My question is: Why isn't GalEmp's in the mediavps? Maybe he was lurking until someone tried it, then jumped on them...?
And Hades, there are many, many more models to choose from. We need someone to work on the Vasudan side of things. HT&L Turtle or mentu would be cool.

I hate crashing the party after I've grabbed my coat and keys, but Goober told me about this and I had to intervene.
I've been working on and off for this ever since Alpha Maps were implemented, and the LOD0 is all done. Unfortunately I haven't gotten any further than what you see here because Max crashes when I try to do debris... not when I try to export debris to a POF, but just detaching the faces to make debris objects. I've honestly no idea why.
I guess I COULD just post the MAX scene and let someone else take a shot at it. Any takers?
