Title: Asteroids are not showing up
Post by: Chesticus on July 19, 2007, 12:36:52 am
The white highlites are there, but the asteroids are not. Makes it hard to save the Galetea. anyone else have this problem and is there a fix.

Add -jpgtga to the launcher flags, see if it helps. 90% of asteroid problems are caused by that.

They show up for me 10% of the time, other than that, I'm ****ed.

Did you Enable jpg and tga textures in the launcher as suggested? Check your mediavps folder you should have at least two VP files that start with mp-710_

If you don't have those then somehow you've managed to install the game without including the media VP patches and that's the cause of your problem.

I went to the launcher and I clicked Features and then enabled ipg/tga textures. That seemed to work as the asteroids were all back then

Trust me, it's jpg. It just looks like an "i" in the launcher because of the font used - The only difference between the two letters is that the j goes two pixels further down. There's no picture format that I know of called IPG ;) Not that that matters much, just clearing it up to avoid possible confusion in the future. Glad it worked :)

It's under a month old. It's dodgy but allowable as long as you don't make it a habit.
