It has been a long time since I have played this game, and I have never really been good at bombing missions. Are there any tips you guys could give. I would like to get better at it.
Just askin

1# kill the Guns on the capships.Like Anti fighter beam cannons.
2# Do not be in the way of your bombs blast.
3#Call all of your wingment to gaurd you unless there is friendly cap ship in need of protection.
4# Kill anything attacking you.
5# Always pick Boagerners.

Bombing in FS2 is pretty straightforward. You mainly need to know where the target's weak spots and best approach angles are, and make sure to dive bomb whenever possible (get the lock from a distance, run in at maximum speed, launch the bombs close to the target, double back and repeat). In some situations, it can also be useful to let AI wingmen fly slightly ahead of you and divert enemy fire.

Sekhmet > Boanerges
As has been stated, always go for turrets first. If you've got friendly capships, target main hostile beams first, if not, ignore them, they're irrelevant. Try to get rid of AAAf beams and Flak cannons from a certain part of the ship first, rather than just targetting every AAAf and going looking for it- hide on one side of the ship.
Don't overload on bombs either, as strange as it may sound. Trebuchets are a bombers best friend as they fire from stupidly long range and can't be intercepted. If you have three banks of missiles, go furies - trebuchets - bombs, unless you're going to be doing more than minor dogfighting, in which case tornadoes or harpoons might be a better choice than the furies.

Get to max AB speed just before firing, this gives your Bombs an extra speed boost, making them more likely to hit.

Well, you want to have at least two banks of bombs (letting you lock/fire one bank while the other is reloading) or you usually won't be able to destroy stuff fast enough to get their kills. In most cases, you're also better off simply approaching the ship from an angle where there are no dangerous turrets instead of spending time taking down such turrets, although this depends a lot on how the mission is set up.

Target AAA turrets and beam turrets with all of your bombs, and all friendly ships will stay alive longer. It just disarms the ship in the best possible way, keeps you moving around to the next turret so you're never being predictable in your attack also.

i haven't noticed much about primaries in here.
the maxim gun is you best friend for smaller (cruiser) ships.

Sekhmet, Cyclops Trebs and MAxim Kayser combo is always the way to go, IT was my bomber of choice in the old Rebel Intercept days.........
*looks distant as he remembers trying to take a hecate down*

Nobody used Trebuchets in RI. :p Sekhmet and 3x Helios was the way to go. You could get seven kills and the full 3600 odd points if you went through all the motions correctly.

Try to kill all the fighters first before actually attacking the capital ship. This will make your job insanely easy.
If you still can't get the kill, lower your difficulty level. Place your sanity before your compulsiveness. Try Very Easy.
