Title: A serious question about InfernoR1
Post by: foolfromhell on July 29, 2007, 09:24:51 pm
I played this a year or so ago, and the last mission was about a Shivan super-destroyer or whatever. IT WAS HUGE. it came our of subspace and blasted EVERYTHING.
There were NO Ancients.
Have the Ancients always been in the campaign or are they more recent?
Maybe my memory is failing me...

the ancients were never used in the R1 campaing, and are sadly not being used in INFSCP either last i heard.

also, i think the shivan ship was the gigas.

The ancients are in Solar Wars, I think.. if not, they are from Sol: A History.  Both are good campaigns, but be sure to get the fixed tables & stuff for them, or they won't work right.  As far as the Gargant goes, IDK.  Ask Snail.

and.... where might I get the said campaigns and fixed .tbls?

I've seen Solar Wars Chapter 1 on HC, but I'm doubtful whether its the most up-to-date version or not...

My Hard Drive... IDK.. I think if you search Hades Combine... let me know if it's not there; I'll just up them for you then.  search for fixed tbls

I see.  Search for "Fixed tbls" (w/out quotes).. see if it's there.

I've just read the posts in the Solar Wars release thread and I don't even want to bother with it.

Thanks for the effort though :)

Accidentally put it in the Utilities section lol.  See if this works.  EDIT: Moved it (didn't know you could).  So, edited the link, which should work.

And for Sol: A History... http://hades-combine.com/web/index.php?ind=downloads&op=entry_view&iden=341

Thanks a bunch, I hope it doesn't crash too much.

Oh and,
I already got SAH (with MediaVP support too)

BTW, does this work with the MediaVPs?

Just a heads up, the Ancients will appear in the INF SCP side-campaign 'Gateways.'

They were originally going to appear in R3/4 whatever (I forgot), where you team up with them to beat the Gargant. However, Gateways will have a better plot and there's no "my enemy's enemy is my friend" **** anymore.

:wtf: It wasn't that in the first place

Really? Hmm...

IIRC, the Ancients confused us for the "Destroyers", or Shivans.  So, I imagine, once we convince them we're not (perhaps by trying to communicate with them, which is very un-Shivan to do), they will come around.

i got a question:-

why did you guys decide to stop the campaign with the arrival of the Gigas? I mean, it was a really great way to make people wait for a R2 with baited breath, but also probably left people with a depressing sigh.

umm, that's what the INF SCP team is for, man.  There's supposed to be like, 5 more episodes or something like that if I remember right.

Ah i see now. I always thought INF SCP was just meant to convert everything in INF R1 to SCP-quality.

If it was just that it would of been done by now.
