Title: Any recomendations for good campaigns?
Post by: Grizzly on August 02, 2007, 12:59:38 pm
Going trough Derelict again (in fact, I never finished it. so don't tell me how it ends)... I would like to know, wich campaigns do you like, and do you recommend others to play?

(and please do not recommend your own)

If you have PS_Port:
Shrouding the Light
Phantoms (from the package "Shivans")
Echo Gate (from the package "Shivans")

Sync
Transcendent
The Fall of Epsilon Pegasi
Desperation (Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 - althoug the version of chapter 2 I found was kinda unfinished)
Flames of War 1
Procyon Insurgency

and naturally "Rain On Ribos 4" and "Hellgate Ikeya" (both for FS_Port - though HGI just hit beta) but they are my own  :D

Pretty much everything that has been mentioned so far. Also

Just Another Day (all three of them)
Into the Halls of Valhalla
The Aeos Affair

For FSPort:
Awakenings
Cardinal Spear
Destiny of Peace

INF:R1 , if you're looking for giant capital ship battles.

Derelict or PI if you're looking for a top notch plot.

Transcend if you're looking to get scared ****less.

Why? :wtf:

I think that there should be a "custom campaigns" section somewhere.

Indeed. Apart from Derelict, all of them require FSPort. But it's no big deal. Just get it with the installer. And make sure to have proper mod.inis in the campaign folders.

'Fraid not. Unless I've missed something. Which is not likely. For some reason it's these short-ish FS1 era campaigns that get voice acted. There are a buttload of campaigns post FS2, but there's no voice acting. Not really a big thing, but if you're specifically looking for voice acted campaigns, FSPort is the way to go.

Voice acting in campaigns nowadays is primarily thanks to the efforts of two people, Blaise Russel and Admiral Nelson, both of whom have done more with the FSPort than with stock FS2.

Well thats kinda sad, I think I try the voiced acted first and then check out the fs2 new stuff (I like campagines with voiceacting far more, it just feels better)
