I just upgraded from my athlonXP to a dual core intel and all my games are screaming except freespace which seems to be running far far slower. I was wondering is there some reason behind this that people are aware of?
-
What version of FSO are you running. There is a known problem with 3.6.7.
Well actually there are a lot of known problems with 3.6.7.
-
the official 3.6.9 release. I had freespace in mind when I upgraded so that I wouldn't get jerks when having an orion or installation on screen, upgraded version.
before it was around 25fps with craploads going on and now it's 15fps or so. :( *Cries*

Computer specs would be helpful, as well as the command line arguments you run with.

i regognize this...the dual-core bugg! doesent setting proccessor affinity to single-core fix it?
-
i'd also like to know...i bought a new laptop with core 2 duo...how do i switch the affinity to single core?
it's really slow...
-
how do you do this single core setup thing?
Specs are
Intel Dual core 3600
2gig of ram
nvidia 6800GT
-
figured it out...
task manager -> fresspace2 process -> righlclick -> uncheck a cpu
doesn't improve much though
-
About a 25% improvement. At least it's back to where my Athlon use to be. lol :)
-
thats a good start :P
Will SCP 3.6.10 maybe support dual core? plzzzzz? ^^
-
install the dual core optimizer from AMD
-
but I got an intel?
-
i'm afraid AMD optimizer wouldn't do much good with intel cpu
-
its working but you need set to windows xp by my its working normally
