I cannot remember what its called. Theres a program that loads smartshaders for use with games. Can anyone tell me what its called?
And then theres an actual smartshader that you can load with the program that makes freespace 2 look oh-so-fancy... whats the smartshader called?

Are there any 'smart shaders' for NVidia cards?
-
Hmmmm. I guess i get ressurected for this purpose again. My only problem is that i lost my hdrish and hdrish-lite smartshaders and smartshader loader. I formatted the wrong ****ing partition, but i'm all ext3 now. The one thing i do remember is that the smartshader i used was called idfk. One thing i do know is get a hold of ati tray tools and that will let you load any smartshaders you got.
Also, no smartshaders for nvidia cards because nvidia didn't make any.

No, the entire smartshader functionality is an ATI feature, and even they don't support it anymore. You can still use it by essentially tricking games into running off older drivers.
As far as FS2 is concerned, the effect looks great on ships but is only useful in missions with crappy backgrounds. If there are any detailed nebulas or planets in the background, the bloom effect will completely wash them out.

It also comes with all the necessary shader files.

Why didn't you unformat? I've heard it's possible.
-
I still can unformat, but all the apps i've found for linux to doing that seemed, ummm, gay and a little way too complicated. I just want to click on a partition and then click unformat, also i'm using ext3 for all of my drives.
-
Did you search in SourceForge?
-
Idk what i'd find they're
-
High quality open source programs. :p
-
Yeah well, you know what i mean :p
I don't know what kind of unformatting programs i'd find there.
-
*sigh* was it an ext partition? Try ReaR (http://sourceforge.net/projects/rear/), see if that's what you want. Did you just re-format the partition? Did you delete the partition? http://www.google.com/search?q=unformat http://www.google.com/search?q=partition+recover

Too late :p I needed to restructure my hard drive. So i did so. I got rid of all the redundant windows paritions i used to have. That will make stuff so that i don't choose the wrong partition again.
