Move this if it doesn't belong here.
My buddy just got me administrating with him in a gaming forum of his own (invision free, nothing much) and i need a siggy pic that will really rub in everybody's face that i'm a space-sim fan from freespace. For now i have this:
I'm looking for a pic like that, with a good shot of a beam cannon so i can add that little message in with it somewhere. Thanks for the help.

Make the words dark blue, with the outer edges rimmed with light blue.

It looks like the Leviathan and Rackshasa are havinga lightsabre duel!
Shivan Cruiser: "Join the D0rk Side!"
Terran Cruiser: "Nehvar!"

It's a shame though that this picture wasn't in SCP/HTL. The beams would be much more beautiful. But it IS a very very beautiful picture! You don't see that a lot...

There's something you should know about that picture - it wasn't taken using the game engine. It was put together by Setekh as part of his Array image gallery (which isn't currently online).
IIRC he used a custom rendering engine called Spire.
-
Well that's pretty obvious it's not ingame... The Fenris turret is wrong, the engines and beams have special glows, and the beams are fencing rather than jabbing... Oh, and the nebula look strange of course.
BTW, Is there any chance of the Array returning?
-
Yea, I posted a thread earlier about it :( Apparantly, it seems like they don't have the backups or something. :(
-
3 is coming!

Not without Setekh.

I don't recall anything about spire...what is it, and why aren't we all using it?

Like I said, Spire is a custom rendering engine. If I recall correctly it was actually Setekhs brother who first thought it up, though Steak himself had a hand in it as well. It was never released because it was a custom engine specially built for them, they weren't ready to release it to anyone and it was certainly never a commercial product.
More's the pity as I bugged him for a copy on more than one occasion, but never did get a crack at using it! Suffice to say the chances of any of us ever seeing it released are very low indeed.
