At the beginning, when you see the burning apollo... on the side of the apollo (on the front-right side of the burning engine), there are a few letters...
it says: GTI.
(by the way, are there any ways of taking screenshots of movies, so I can highlight it some way?)
-
It says GTF not GTI. Then after that I assume it's a 5.
Either way it's not surprising, since it is a GTF... Apollo.

It says GTF but the Horizontal lines on the F are slightly faded.

To take Screenshots from Video clips, download Media Player Classic, its got a Take Snapshot function. You can take them off YouTube with a simple PrintScreen.
-
Yeah, how do they stop you from PrintScreening videos? That's not fair?
-
It says GTF...Errr...GTF-5?!
-
The Apollo could be the fifth class of Galactic Terran Fighters produced...

Well the only ship that is canon is GTF Angel. non-canons are from INFA, I think.

Eh? The only pre-Apollo fighter in INFA is the Angel. The Shrike, Falcon, and Mustang Alpha are from TVWP.

are those pheonix V missles its carrying?

Oversized Furies.
-
maybe fury adv.s. the bomber fury!

Shrike, Falcon, Mustang Alpha, Angel and Apollo. Five classes of Galactic Terran Fighters. I was right! :P

There were probably other ships before the Angel.

There were probably other ships before the Angel.
But they may not have been "Galactic Terran Fighters". Who knows, the Terran species, after the first colonizations, was divided in multiple factions. The Reconstruction era GTA had problems of integrity, for example.

Yes i am Surprised that Humans were able to get together. :P

I think that the Apollo was the fifth ship created by the HR or for the GTA or something like that.
-
Maybe...Ash's Apollo was the fifth variant of the regular Apollo. The bomber variant everyone keeps talking about.
-
IIRC, the apollo if the 5th fighter in beta wing, AKA Beta 5
-
But he wasn't part of Wing Beta. He was part of Wing Gamma.
-
And the Installation says Gamma three-niner?! (Gamma 39?!) What does this mean?
Oh! Probably Ash meant Gamma 999! Unclear guy... never made it out of Grammer school... :doubt:
-

He was part of wave 10 of Gamma wing?
-
I always wondered that. In Goob's mission, Gamma 39 warps in.

Most cutscenes play in a screen overlay, AFAIK. Windows' Prt Screen doesn't work on overlays. In-game, it works, because FreeSpace is using the Prt Screen key to get the screenshot, not Windows. (Notice it ends up in multiple files, instead of in the clipboard being overwritten each time the key is hit.) So you need to either play the cutscene in software that supports catching screenshots (like Media Player Classic), or use software that supports capturing images from screen overlays (like FRAPS).
