Title: Damp or forward accel/deaccel?
Post by: Polpolion on August 11, 2007, 10:05:05 pm
Whats the difference? It looks like, according to the Wiki, that they are the same thing, only damp is smooshed into one.

The accel/decel values say  how long it takes the ship to get to/decelerate from top speed in absolute numbers, dampening makes your controls mushy and adds more of a sliding effect.

damp is more about aoa than actual velocity. essentially how long it takes for your velocity vector to alignt to forward. rot damp is the time it takes for your actual angular velocity to get up to the desired angular velocity.

I will have to experiment with this. Thanks!
