Hey guys.
Is there any way to FRED or make a mod that would reverse the direction of shockwaves? So instead, the shockwave would start from the outside and converge inward.
-
I don't think it is possible, expecially with 3D shockwaves(which are unrealistic).
The only way to do it, according to me, is creating a 2D shockwave ani that starts from the outside. You can do it with ANIBUILD...extract all frames of a normal shockwave and invert their order...
But what's the point in having an inverted shockwave? :wtf:

It's been said before, and I'll say it again. When the hell was FS2 realistic?

An implosion, maybe?

Well the animation of a 3d shockwave can also be reversed.

So? They sometimes slow down the game speed. Old shockwaves were enjoyable.

I like 3d shockwaves so I'm going to use them. STFU!!
-
Then enjoy slowed down explosions of superdestroyers.

I don't mind since I have a reasonably powerful computer.

But it doesn't make sense. Less eyecandy, slower game speed. How can you prefer 3D shockwaves?

I'm going to use it AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME!! :P

If you put it this way...well...I'm forced to write in my signature the contents of yesterday's MSN conversation! :P

I kind of agree with mobius. 3d shockwaves slow down the computer, and plus I always manage to see them from the side.

Eh eh...Mr. Snail is scared...

Yes, that's what basically happens.
-
I was going to say:
Well I don't care about your opinion here, since it's my game on my own computer with my own preferences,
but I know someone would have come here and say something rude, "like oh well we don't ****ing care about your preferences", so I decided not to.
-
I was only saying that more than one member could complain a slowed-down game(since you're going to use 3D shockwaves in AIII).
-
Back on topic please.
-
you could make an implosion 3d/2d shockwave easy. but having a per-ship tick box in "misc moptions" to reverse shockwaves would be neat...

Because some of us actually have video cards that aren't rubbish. :P
I'm done now.
-
But wouldn't it have to explode first and then implode?
I mean there's no matter around the ship to be drawn into the center.
Normally, a imposion would just be the ship sucked into (and chrashed/smashed) a center point....kinda like a singularity.
-
If you give a shockwave or explosion a negative value in the tables won't it suck stuff towards it rather than blow it away?
-
no, the shockwave is nonexistant, but everything else is pulled twoards it.
to create: set blast force to a negative value in custom shockwave editor (FRED) or the tables.
