I recently installed FS2+SCP 3.6.9 on my new computer with Vista (argh).
Otherwise it works fine, but the resolution is always 800x600 or something, no matter what i set it as. I've tried playing with most of the settings and flags, but it didn't help. Help would be appreciated.
Also, hi.

Hmm. I'm no expert but I would suggest that you check that you have sparky_hi_fs2.vp in your root FreeSpace 2 folder. Then again, this could be a Vista issue. In that case I'll shut up completely.

If you don't have sparky_hi_fs2.vp, then you are limited to 640x480 resolution.

Yup, i have that file. I downloaded the game from the automated installer thing, don't remember it's name right now...
Thanks for the welcome.

Oh yeah, forgot about that.
Maybe its just an incompatibility issue with Vista. Or then again, how 'bout your drivers? Are they up to date? Or maybe we should just wait until some gurus manage to find this thread.

Yup, drivers are up to date. They still suck, though.
This seems like a very odd problem to me.

I am running FSO on Vista, no problems.
Well, no problems of this sort anyway.
My monitor's default resolution is something like 1600 x 1200, which is running smoothly except that the target brackets don't always line up with the ship they're tracking... I think that's just a widescreen problem though.

I'm redownloading and reinstalling the whole thing, to see if it helps.
I'll report back.
Edit: Seems to be working fine now! \o/
Thanks for the help guys.
