Title: Freespace 2 Campaign not working properly

Hi, I just finished replaying the FS 1 port in the source code project and everything was working great! (Graphics were excellent, and the whole thing just was awesome.)  But now I want to replay the Main Freespace 2 campaign and all the nice graphics options aren't working.  I've tried disable all the Graphics flags and re-enabling them, but that didn't work.  I also noticed that the Source Code Project loading screen in the beginning didn't appear.  What could be going wrong.  I've used the source code project before and haven't experienced this error yet.


Here is the command line for the exe file
C:\Program Files\Volition-Inc\Freespace 2\fs2_open_3_6_9.exe -mod data -spec -glow -env -jpgtga -mipmap -nomotiondebris -2d_poof -missile_lighting -orbradar -snd_preload

It sounds like you forgot to select MediaVPs as your MOD. Open the Launcher, click on the MOD tab, click on Select MOD button and select your MediaVP folder. Then just hit OK and you're ready to go.

Welcome to the HLPBB!!! :)

You should simply use the media vps as MODs. In order to do that, you simply have to open the launcher, click on "MODs" and select your mediavps folder as MOD. This will ensure some eyecandy! :)

In order to learn something good about using MODs, I recommend Karajorma's FreeSpace FAQTM, also known as The FAQTM. You can find a link in my signature :)

Yeah, that's good.  :yes:

Mod.inis are a lifesaver, yet sometimes it feels like many people don't know nothing about them.

A while back I had to teach starbug the same thing. And colecampbell666 too, I guess.

But maybe we should end this enlightening discussion before some evil administrator comes and locks this.

The thing with mod.ini files is that the user shouldn't have to know about them. As more and more mods use them, the need to know anything other than that the game magically knows which other mods to look for should vanish. :)
