Title: Video Conversion Question
Post by: Tyrian on August 19, 2007, 02:10:54 pm
I have a couple of friends of mine who are in a band and I'm their resident computer guy.  Each show they do, they record on a pair of handheld digital video cameras.  We were wondering if it was possible to upload the videos to YouTube or Google Video, but first we need to convert the video and audio files to something compatible with YouTube/Google Video.

So a couple of questions:

1.)  What format does the video need to be in for an upload?
2.)  What converter should we use to get it into that format?

I think the current format is a standard recorded DVD format...

1.) You can probably find this on YouTube somewhere.
2.) Super (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html). It can convert anything to anything.

Woot!  Thanks!  This will hopefully get their band noticed! :D

The cameras probably came with software. Youtube takes a wide variety of formats, chances are good that software will create video files that are compatible.

The DVDs are burned specifically to be played on DVD players.  I'm not sure that that format is YouTube uploadable.

Oh, it records right onto the DVD. Neat.

Yeah, then ignore me :)
