here is one new shoot from the WotW-dev site:
it is the SJ Tzulan, the command ship of the shivan armada the remains of the GTVA will be up against...

SF Familiar? how familiar? because i dont recognize it.
-
In early modern English superstition, a familiar spirit, imp, or familiar (from Middle English familiar, related to family) is an animal-shaped spirit who serves for witchery, a demon or other magician-related subjects.

not a very shivan name. maybe good for a new species, but not the shivans.

No one's asking you, you know.
-
technically, by my standards, (which you might flame me saying they are screwed) if you present something to people you are asking them for their feedback on it. akenbosch gave his feedback.
-
you could call it "SF Kama Sutra", or "SF Rama".

isn't Rama taken?

Actualyl, falimmiar fits...it's tied to witchcraft and demonic practices....Lucifer, Demon, Moloch...anyone get hte pattern here?
-
Lookin' good.
And about SF Familiar. I think it's good if 0rph uses names and words from something else than just Hindu mythology. I mean, if we used just Hindu gods and other stuff as names for Shivan ship classes, eventually the names would run out, leaving us only some other Indian words. Then, hearing Command say "A group of Bombay class bombers have arrived. Take them out now, Alpha!" would seriously kick credibility in the arse.
And since familiar fits in with Demon, Moloch and Lucifer, there isn't any problems with the name. Except for people who persistently think it's an adjective.

What does Moloch mean any way? I know Rakshasha means monster in a middle eastern language (indian?)
-
Moloch is the name of another larger form of Aeshma, a many armed, many weaponed Indian goddess.
A rakshasa is a demon or unrighteous spirit in Hindu mythology. Rakshasas are also called man-eaters or cannibals.

I'm sorry, i just can't help but laugh when command says "A group of familiar bombers has jumped in!"
....especially when their the first wave of shivans to arrive after the Capella incident ;7

Why can't you just call it the SF Succubus like everyone else?

Why can't you just call it the SF Succubus like everyone else?
'cause I've got access to two fighters which are called "SF Succubus"; the one is from nukemod and the other from a modeldump I dled from HC a long time ago...
since I was undecided if I would use the shivans from nukemod when I set up the list in first place it became SF Familiar (which is very fitting but you won't understand until the first Familiars show up in the campaign)
EDIT: I forgot, the name Succubus is already used in the WotW shiplist... but as SCv Succubus

Rama is a hostile wing designation in FS1.
-
which is why i wouldn't use it
-
.... now here is thrid new shivan ship....
the SCv Succubus is an unconventional design if you consider shivan standards but that does not make it less deadly
(like Tzulan this only reskin of the ship from INFR1)

nice ;)

Sexy. Very sexy.

I always thought the Malia looked more Shivan than Ancient... In addition, I was using the Derelict Knossos reskin at the time so it looked Shivan too.
Very good model.
