Has anyone been able to successfully Install and Play FreeSpace 1 on a Vista computer/notebook? I've been able to Install it, but my game doesn't launch. Can anyone shed any light on this slight issue.

It can be done, but there are a lot of problems that can happen.

There ya go.

It works fine for me... except for CD2, as some accident including my dog messed it up

CD / DVD / Game Doctor works good on those... you just might have to run it through 5-15 times.

FS2 and SCP work just fine on Home Premium (32 bit). Only thing i had to do was download OpenAL.

Use Turey's installer (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,42854.0.html) to download it if you can't fix your disk. It will download FS1, FS2, improved graphics, improved game engine, and a host of mods.

My FS2 is tureys, but my FS1 is retail, I installed FS1 on vista home basic after a reload with no problems, before the reload the preloaded "extra" software gave me major grief. but on a clean "from the disk" install of windows vista, so far I've been playing both FS1 and FS2
