So far I have been happy wit husing FS1 music + 3 or 4 tracks I took from other campaign...but now I found the uber source for mucis...Ohh.. I struck it rich!
AND I'VE NEVER BEEN MORE TEMPTED TO KEEP THE STUFF SECRET UNTILL RELEASE!
D SOURCE!
http://freeplaymusic.com/search/
I allready got a MP3 to .ogg converter, so we are set...here's what I found awensome:
Above and Beyond - another good fighting music
All Told - could be used as a fighting music
Alley Rat - hmm...maby for some shivan horror stuff?
Call To Arms - amazing stuff. I'll prolly use it in a cutscene..or maby as a victory music... Intro or outro cutscene..hmmm
Dawns Early Light - has a destinct military feel to it. good for a cutscene
Earth - solemn, bust somewhat forebroding music. Good for HOL stuff
Deserted - western shodown. Meh...maby if the player has to fight a enemy ace or sumtin
Sunrise in Fear - dark, again good for a HOL or a tragic event
For the Glory - could make a very good outro. Calm, introspective, has a sad tone in it.
For the Gold - very celebratory, victory music.
Gates to Adis - VERY epic and confrontational. good for some nasty shivan surprise
Gold - would be great for the supership launch cutscene. has the "WOW" factor
Grand New Day - very good for intro or outro. regal. The first 1/4 is firring too silet tough. Was thinking of using this one for intro (with the first 1/4 cut out)
In Tune Today - not bad, but dunno if it can be used anywhere
Human Aid - another good fighting music
Icarus Cry - epic, spooky, somewhat theatrical
Icarus Fall - bulding up momentum, like a imminent danger is approaching. Has excellent parts for allmsot everything.
Into the Sun - regal victory feel to it, second part is more action packed
Legion - very shivany..spooky & mysterious:yes:
Morning on the Field - has a sad military victory feel to it....hmmm..could make a good intro, but has sudden swings & repeats...feels rushed.. Sad
Morning Sunrise - might make a nice victory music
Mountain - building momentum, like it's celebrating something
Mountains in the Air - first part might make a good briefing music, second part is realy like a epic celebration
Night Watch - hm...nice musicc. It's from the news, but still sounds...very good. victory
Hope Beat - good for dibrief (victory)
Paranormal - good atmospheric music for nebla missions...higly mysterious
Pirates Nest - mixed spooky & heroic. smells like heroic victory
first part is silent and spooky, then comes a herioc, adventorous part that dies down into silent spooky again
Sand Storms - dramatic buildup at the begining, might make a good battle music or good for a shivan attack cutscene
Storm Chases - good victory music
Steadfast - solemn music..kinda dramatic
Tears of Joy - great victory music, has a hint of sadness in it
Empire At War - building up military momentum..like mustering a fleet for an attack. Might make a decent battle music..hmm
Thunderization - heavy action music...great battle stuff
Victory Planet - would make good battle music..at least the first part...the other one is celebratoray
Entry of the Nations - victory music..spot on!

Nice work Trashman. Some good tracks there!
Oh, if only I had not just finished compiling my soundtrack!
-
dude, this is a gold mine. its got some good industrial sounding stuff, i like.
-
Excellent! This could be extremely useful.
-
and I just noticed that I copy/pasted this from hte HC forums without removing some comments related to FOW cutscenes... :blah:
-
Are you going to create a package, aren't you? Having something like LS' nebulae would be great.
We can use these soundtracks without adding them to our campaign VPs... :)
-
I'm converting them to .ogg but ti's going slowly..
Oh, you mean add new sounds to the music.tbl? I can do that...methinks..

works fine for me -- and you are remembering me of something....
-
I nkow that, but I think he meant using them as standard music - thus in briefings, debriefings, as victory music or "standard" tracks.
-
I'll list a few that I found, along with what I think they are best suited for.
Infoscape - Cutscene or something dramatic.
Abandoned - Failure music, or credits.
Personal Demons - Briefing music, bombing runs, or credits.
For Whom The Bell Tolls - Briefing music, briefing music, or briefing music.
Wall The - For those long and empty escort missions.
Gremlins - Briefing music.
Southsea - Maybe for BoE type intros.
-

Depends. There are conventional FreeSpace soundtracks(divided in multiple parts, such as ambient, battle 1, battle 2, etc etc)and simple soundtracks that can be used with a SEXP.
In both cases, a package would be nice. We won't have to add all the same soundtracks in our VPs. We'll use your package as a MOD.
-
Will see what I can do...given that FOW wil efeature a lot of new music, this might be "along the way" ;)
-
Correct. You may wish to release the package in a short amount of time. I will certainly use it
-
Excellent! I'll bookmark that site and then we'll all have new music! Quick question--do they have "Disco Inferno"?
-
JAD does... :nervous:
-
I like music without words - now there's a large source! Thanks to Trashman.
-
Hmm, why would you convert .mp3 to .ogg? Doesn't FS_Open support .mp3? I thought it did...
-
FSO doesn't support .mp3.
-
Is it just me, or does Thunderization sound a LOT like Burly Brawl from the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack... :wtf: :nervous:
-
I have no idea what any of that music is... :blah: If every one else thinks it good then il agree. :P
-
I think its just music compiled using whatever with no words (as far as I know)
-
That's what we need...FS soundtracks should be free from any kind of voice.
-
Wrong...FS soundtrack does have some female voices :p
-
Wrong...FS soundtrack does have some female voices :p
Don't forget the male one. ;7
-
Those are synthetized voices...they're not real...
And there's no text, no words to sing. That's the difference(I don't continue because I don't want a "Destroy Rap II"thread here in FreeSpace Modding).
-
"AGNUS DEI" ;7
-
That female voice in the FS2_cinema track sounds like she's saying --------- --------- day or something.
-
I was impressed with the music choice in the Transcendence campaign.
"Betrayal" was an excellent track for the mood of the White Noise mission, with the right combination of vocals and crashing metallic percussion. Sad, determined and disturbing.
As for the vocals used in the cannon FS2 music, I thought they were from Symphony of Voices - often used by the BBC and also cropping up in other games (although the only example I can remeber now is Baten Kaitos 1 on the GC, during track 4 - "Soul Poetry").
-
As for the vocals used in the cannon
Now there's an image for ya! Vocal chords being fired out of a cannon!
-
Does anyone know where that Erik McClure music went or if there's any more?
I like it, but I forgot where it was posted and who posted it. Thanks in advance.
-
"AGNUS DEI" ;7
From Ace Combat 4? ;7
It's enteresting afterall...a bunch of atheists who love Agnus Dei
