When the Centauri are mass-driving the Narn Homeworld?
That always makes me feel sad...
-
They deserve it so no :p
I kinda like the feeling an orbital bombardment gives me, not a sexual thing :nervous: Just the raw power being utilised, kinda empowering wouldn't you say?

same thing happens when you blow up stuff with the death star.

on a related notem I reckon S3 had the best intro sequence & music with S4 a close runner-up.
-
that was the whole "year of hope, year of death, year of change /*flaming whitestar crashing through a dome + explosions*/" one right?
-
Nah, that's season 4. Which I tend to believe was the best opening.
What gives me chills is the start of Ivanova's speech, The Babylon Project was our last, best hope for peace. It failed.

Are you kidding me??
The Narn are a much better race than the Centauri!
Except, they look fierce...
The Centauri are ruthless idiots who look stupid.

I don't know, the Narn are - to me - rather Klingon like in style in some ways (not all mind you).
I personally find the way the Centauri are portrayed as a fantastically developed race, I love the decadant approach, the pompous style and the fact that they of course are put firmly in their place on a number of occassions by other - more powerful - races.

anyone that knows anything about orbital mechanics would know that you would have to drive the mass retrograde in order for it to actually hit the plannet, unless of course you put your ship into a freefall first. if youve ever played orbiter, take the delta glider up to a stable orbit, point the nose to the dirt (90 degrees) and throttle up to maximum. you will never hit the plannet! to actually make planetfall you need to point your nose oppisite of your momentum vector and burn. so essentially every planetary bombardment scene in every tv show is completely wrong.
now i did say you can put the ship into a freefall, for this you would need to put your ship into an eccentric orbit, at the peak of which you would burn retrograde to stop your forward velocity. at this point you wouldnt even need to fire your weapons, simply release them, earths gravity will accelerate them just fine. and of course you as well. fortunately sence your orbital velosity is slowest at apogee, it wouldnt take much thrust to return you to your previous orbit, simply burn in the opposite direction that you burned to enter the freefall (and hope you have time to finish it). this of course is a total waste of fuel when all you need to do is fire your ordinance retrograde. it woulda been easyer and more effective just to put engines on some rocks from the asteroid belt and put em on a collision course.

In my opinion, "In the beginning" had the most chilling/moving scenes. Londo's "Where another race would surrender to despair", while Earth ships are torn apart is very moving.
Also, at the end, before the battle of the line, when the President encourages the military "to step forward one last time".
As for the seasons/episodes, season 4 intro is definitely the best. Perhaps the saddest moment for me too, is the "mass driving" of the Narn homeworld, and Londo's expression when he is soon through the window.

Excellent little montage, indeed. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=se9FNdyKFtk)
