Title: How's hte Earth-Minbari war coming along?
Post by: TrashMan on August 24, 2007, 03:13:09 pm
I liked hte demo of htat one and am looking forward to it..

B.t.w - you should make the humans frag a few minbari ships. They did it in the series. Hell, when that Centauri guy, Lando talks about the war you see humans ships ramming Sharlins (and sharlins blowing up). He talk of humans fighting like crazy for every inch of space, and I'm jsut no seeing that atm.. :sigh:

the official EMW campaign was chanceled AFAIK

MadAboutGames's EMW campaign is where MAG currently is

-- and "Tale of EAS Janus: Earth Minbari War" which happens to have a lot of the sences you are refering to is in my hands for updating and that is proceeding slowly 'cause the massive load of rebalancing which leaves me quite disappointed very often

I'm probably going to get a geek status with this remark, but the Centauri dude's name is Londo.

Lando was the only funky character in the original Star Wars trilogy.

Yup, my bad.. :nervous:

Regardless, there were scenes of humans making the Minbari play, trough the nose, for every inch. Yeah, for every minbari ship tehy took out they lost 3 of their own...but I bet the minabari didn't expect that..
I want to see some of that crazy pride and stubborness Londo was talking about ;7

@Orpheus - rly? You doin it? Need help?

Sheridan however refers to the destruction of the Blackstar as the only victory humanity had in the entire war.

So you can blow up Mimbari cruisers but you better make damn sure that at least as much EA hardware buys it in the mission too.

Or you could do it along the lines of 'Slaying Ravanna' where, rather than having to include the ships in mission, you give a nice long list of ships that have been destroyed by the target.

then that's conflicing with what's shown in the show.. I recall seeing a few Sharlins bite the dust.

possibly Sheridan refers to the only "true" victory (that didn't involve loosing so many of your own ships)

If both sides lose a destroyer and the EA has less or the same number of destroyers then it is at best a draw.

In fact JMS said something similar himself.

Quote
"In the "2 years" montage in "In The Beginning", we see an Earth Alliance ship ram a Minbari cruiser amidships, blowing a hole through its middle. Does this mean that Sheridan's was not the only ship that destroyed a Minbari battleship during the war?"

Sheridan was the only one to score a *victory* against a Minbari war cruiser. Meaning he survived. Ramming one, and dying in the process, ain't a victory...at best it's a draw.

Are any elements from "In The Beginning" going to be used?  I was always very impressed by that early work.
