Title: is X3 - reuinion good?
Post by: akenbosch on August 25, 2007, 04:19:31 pm
should i get it? whats the gameplay like? (an action-strategy genre sticker on the box is pretty vauge, since that could mean freespace think 'n shoot action or final fantasy turn based "X character used X attack on X enemy, X enemy defended")

does it have a good story? is there any way to get models/textures straight outa the game and use them? is it worth the 25 bucks? is it worth playing?

Basically if you want an economic/empire building sim, get it. If you want to shoot things down, there are better things out there.

Tough to say at the moment, most of the Space-based games are trading or 'RPG' style games. X3 is ok, but you need a mega-computer to run it at any speed, especially once your fleet starts getting big, it takes a long time to play, with a great deal of micro-management and once you've completed the main campaign, the interest curve dropped pretty steeply for me.

I got X3 the other day but haven't touched it since my new PC isn't ready and i've been played bioshock.  If it's anything like X2, the single player story will take about 2 hours to complete and everything else in open-ended sim city in space.
