Great campaign as usual Orph3u5. Beside having the game crash the first time I started the campaign all is well. On the last mission now, should have it finshed later today.

AFAIK, LoA was done a lone time ago he only needed testing.

Will Workings of the Warp be out any time soon?

thx, Macfie

Yes, I FREDed it paralell to HGI after I was done with RoR.... I would actually have withheld it a bit longer since I wanted to work out a different approach on the 5th mission - but REAL(tm) LIFE(tm) did not allow it

Will Workings of the Warp be out any time soon?

No...
1st - REAL(tm) LIFE(tm) and my "current condition" do not allow me to activly FRED on my campaigns right now and I fear it will become worse in the next weeks
2nd - unlike "Crossing Styx" (my GW era stealth campaign) or my TBP projects WotW will require modelling attention for a new race appearing in the campaign and all attempts of the team to do that were just furbar

FOW3 will be finished soon (part 1 at least), so I will have some time to help you out on that one...probably ;7

sorry orpheus, but I found this campaign did not live up to the standard of you other campaigns.  Its quite annoying for you to do two missions to "weaken the capabilities" of the destroyer only to see it has little or no effect for the attack on it.  That fighter sweep mission? Yeah, pretty pointless, considering the destroyer spawned unlimited fighters untill it died anyway.  Ditto on the supply raid.

Maybe I'm just seeing the same thing too many times, but when the difficulty in campaigns is only due the the outrageous outnumbering of fighters compared to you and you dieing half the time by being rammed in a dog fight it takes the fun right out of the game.

I do appreciate the large amount of good campaigns you are releasing, this I just found to be the bad apple of the bunch.

that is why wanted to re-do that mission but I simply don't have the time to do that as well as some other things (I barely can find the time to answer your post)

let's see if version 1.1 will do any good once I find the time to scratch anything for a patch together

I've kinda re-done the last mission... anyone wants to try and tell me if its any better?

note: some things are still missing though - I need to adjust the briefing and add a little more combat chatter perhaps

I feel honored (again)
-- but maybe you could have waited until the release of 1.1 which includes a second campaign file which features the new ending (so players can decide what ending is better)

Much better, though it may be a testament to my lack of skill that the Temple always ends up colliding with the Myrmidon and my wingmen end up dead (more waves for beta and gamma wings maybe?). I suppose the way to win this is to protect your 3 cruisers long enough for them to inflict damage? (not sure if this counts as a spoiler)

I think he passed Blaise Russel as the most prolific FREDder a while back actually looking at his list of campaigns.

noted -- Let me see if I can do about it (balancing these 3 side battles is *difficult* 'cause the AI somehow was problems with picking its targets etc.

don't count on that lasting - I'll soon be gone for 12 months or so

Okay,
this will be my last release for a while (and this isn't actually a release)... from tomorrow on I'm doing my one year term of military service which I have to do... but I'll come back in a years time - in the meantime I'll still do some posting and I'll organize some stuff...

soo - enough friendly chatting; here it is "The Light of Antares" Version 1.1:
Currently Only Avalible at MyDataBus (http://www.mydatabus.com/public/0rph3u5/LoAv1_1.zip)
(I hope this will change soon)

Changes:
- the debriefing of Mission 4 is now working
- I re-did Mission 5 to a nice, chalanging and well balanced space battle

Guys,

Orph3u5 campaigns are great but so difficult to find. Can someone post the links on the freespace wiki. I updated Light of Antares...

http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/Light_of_Antares_%2AP

Please inform me once you do so.

Orph3u5, maybe I am a bit late and you already went to your military service but if not, I wish you all the best.

just to inform you all;
MyDataBus kicked my files off their server 3 months ago (when they killed all free hosting) and ever since I've tried to set up my own site with webspace for the my "Memories of the Great War"-campaign series ("Rain On Ribos 4", "Hellgate Ikeya", "The Light of Antares", "Crossing Styx" and "Words of the Prophet")

but sadly I'm currently stuck with my military service and so I'm not very often at home (my stationed far away from my hometown) so all work on this will be delayed...  :(  :(

Here is a shortcut to all three of the current Rain on ribos campaigns (Rain On Ribos 4", "Hellgate Ikeya", "The Light of Antares")  The three campaigns are in one zip file posted on file front.  Some of Orpheus' campaigns can be accessed through white omega production studio ( http://wo.proxima-fleet.com/ )
