I knew this about americans before I even watched the vid or the news report. Funny or seriously sad? You decide... :sigh:

It's funny how there seems to be this Dichotomy of 'Modern Culture is ruining our kids imaginations and ability to have good clean fun' and yet punish kids for showing imagination and a sense of humour. Admittedly, as the lad said, it's been done before, but it's still a lot of effort and energy on behalf of his school. So much for 'School Spirit'.

My P.E. teacher would probably have given me serious Kudo's if I'd pulled something like that off against an opposite team.

What's especially funny is that more of the people involved seem to be from the school that was the victim of the prank. 3 kids were suspended but two of them were actually from the school that supposedly sucked. :D

So they can't even complain about a lack of sportsmanship really since this was an inside job.

Seems like it's a descendant of this classic (http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/pranks/rosebowl.html).

And while the punishment seemed somewhat excessive, I don't think they necessarily should have gotten off scot-free, even if it was rather amusing.  I mean, isn't half the fun of a prank the risk of getting caught in the act? :p
