Includes Farcry, Prince of persia and Raving Rabbits. These are ad-supported, not the greatest, but for those of us who haven't played those... at least farcry, free is good. :D

Forgive me, but 'ad supported'?
-
They got in-game ads or at least in the menus...
I'm downloading farcry now... still have 30 minutes left.

You will need an Ubi.com account and you must live in the U.S. to play the game

Starshatter is overrated.

you do not have to live in the US. You just need to register an Ubisoft account and state that you live in the US ;)

I've just gone to www.gamershell.com. After staying on the page for a few seconds, my browser window closes and a box pops up in the lower right corner, saying I have "compromising files" or some other BS. I close it, but it reroutes me to http:// www. drivecleaner .com/ .freeware/ index.php?p=13&ax=1&ex=1&z=-4&link=keyin&ad=namebusy_rdt_us_en_ed2&aff=. I know that the box and site are probably fake, but my question is, is it some new type of really invasive advertising on their site, or do I need to run another adware scan on my system? I should also note that the only time this happens is on that specific site.
I split up the second link so that it wouldn't hyperlink to the site.

http://free.grisoft.com
-Get AVG Anti-Virus & AVG Anti-Spam
Also, Lavasoft Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy
-
Already have those. Running them now... *Sigh*

The only other thing you might want (for prevention in the future) is Windows Defender (http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx) (free from MS); I use that too.
-
windows defender sucks.
anyway i tend to avoid anything that is ad supported. id sooner pirate them for spite. if you want me to buy your game, be sure it gets rotated into the bargain bin after a few months :D

windows defender sucks.
No, it doesn't. Just don't use it as your primary anti-spyware software... it's only good for general stuff, like detecting changed startup values.
