The big man was a favorite of my grandfathers, someone he always wanted to emulate when he was signing. Pavarotti frequently filled the house as I was growing up.
As far as celebrity deaths are concerned, this one actually has an emotional impact, makes me miss my grandafather.
Very sad.

Very,very very sad for me, too. As Romano Prodi said, my country lost a great man.
I watched the funeral on TV(quite sad, it was supposed to be a great day...one of my cousins got married), I liked the Frecce Tricolori, who passed right above the Duomo of Modena.
