Welcome to the HLPBB! :D

Do you have FS Open? You can get many revamped FS1 campaigns from here: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/board,39.0.html

:)

I asked if you have FS Open. I think you should get FS Open, FS1 is phased out. Turey's Installer is easy to use, here's the link:

And here's the manual for Turey's FSO Installer (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,47045.0.html); Use it. You'll get FS2, FSO, FSPort and god knows what. Welcome to the exciting world of FreeSpace Open.

Not that I know of. You just have to use a skillful combination of Skippy's Campaign List, the wiki and the search function.

Bah, an0n is... well... an0n. It really doesn't make any difference if he happens to find your posts useless. I mean, what has he done for the community? You persistently offer advice for newcomers. At the same time an0n just explains something about cheeseburgers, drinking and stuff. Just how useful is that?

I totally respect your posts, if it matters in any way.

Oh... my bad. I'm not running at full capasity since I had to go mano a mano with a chemistry exam, almost ending up with me explaining how 2=1, or how the answer to problem 4 is actually Kari Rydman and the academy of music at Valkeakoski.

But still, I think you rock, man .

The Installer should've shown you the Post-Install notes. I hope you read them.

To play, run the Launcher.exe in your FreeSpace folder, then click Run.

To play FSPort (the fancier version of FS1), open the Launcher, open the MOD tab, click Select MOD, select the FSPort folder, hit ok and click Run. Then, in the main hall, go to the campaign selection screen and select the proper campaign.

If you get an error that says something about openal, install OpenAL (http://www.openal.org/).

Remember. Don't run FS2.exe or FreeSpace2.exe. Instead, run Launcher.exe or fs2_open_3_6_9.exe.

I was replaying 'Crucible' campaign last night and got an in game error message saying 'Crucible cant find "x-number" of weapons' and do I want to continue. I did but there were no primary weapons in the loadout screen, and no primary weapons on my ship, just the secondary.

Please help!!

Have you checked the Mod.ini? you should have the fsport entry there on the primary ; or secondary ; list.

Thanks for the necro.

Run a debug build, find the fs2_open.log from \freespace2\data and post it here either as an attachment or using the "code" tags.

Well, put one in there. Crucible most certainly requires at least FSPort.
