Just realized that I've never read it thoroughly :nervous:
-
I basically never had one. My copy of FS1 was from the bargin bin (actually no, it was by the register) at Fry's Electronics. The FS2 copy was acquired in a manual-less condition I'm sure you can figure out for yourself.
-
I read the whole thing back when I got the game in 1999. :p I also read the official strategy guide cover to cover at some point. I still have that in my room somewhere.
-
I think I read most of it at the time, but it's long since vanished into the realm of wherethehelldidthatgo
-
I don't know... can you provide a linky? If I start reading it, I'll know if I have read it before or not.

I never read it. I don't even have it. Funny--I generally read the manual of every game I have (because I'm bored during installation).
Oh, and here's a short little tribute to a member from long-ago... back from when I was a very occasional lurker (I've been to this site hundreds of times before registering)

Kudos if you know who....

Yeah, I usually read the manual for games. The quick-reference default key-binding card was very useful, too.
-
At the VBB you were basically castrated, beaten with a dead frozen goat of justice, set on fire, and tossed into a pit of snake infested fecal matter if you asked anything that was in the manual or fred walkthroughs, or showed other signs of being retarded.
-
Yeah, I remember going to the store and picking it up, too. The other game I bought at the time was....Earth 2150, I think. Freespace 2 has WAY outlasted that...
I even saved the box, too. I just think someone else threw it away. =(

I think i still have the FS1 and FS2 manuals lying around somewhere. I'll read the manuals for every game i get. Rather sad that most manuals are 10 pages tops these days.

Look at the "Documentation / Extras" part down the page. (http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?id=4150)

Got to answer 'i don't have it'... As that i only have the pdf versions that came with the game.
-
I read "the most interesting parts", AKA how to create a squadron logo ;)
-
I read the manual when I got the game last year. I've read it several times.
-
I never found the fs2 manual interesting really. The box was cool, and i played the fs1 and fs2 demos before i bought fs2 so i already knew how to play the game. After that there was nothing interesting in the manual at all. So i flipped all of the pages, put it down, and watched the pretty installer.

i read it on the bus, going back home it was ace, i was so excited (wow spaaaaaaaaaccceeeeeeeeessssssshhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiippppppppppppsss sss!!!!!!!!!) ;7

Nope, didn't read it.
