like said above does the site where i must register to play fs1 at multiplayer still exists or is it deleted?
-
PXO is down (although it is coming back eventually) so there is no way to play FS1 online without playing an IP game.
It's possible to simply use the FS1 port to FS2 to play using SCP though.
-
ive the same problem with FS2, i cant find servers-.-
i have the FS open multiplayer but it doesnt work... are there some special settings for the multiplayer??? I use DSL
-
PXO is the system used for both retail games so yeah you're playing them online except by IP game for a while.
And we'll need to know more than it doesn't work to fix the problem. Their is a FAQ linked to at the top of this forum that should get you online.

1. i have the open online FS
2.i have a acoount at FS2NET
3.if i want to play online FS shows me some windows with following text:
1st=> Verifying FS Version
2nd=>Warning Parallax Online setup failed. Will not be able to play online.......
3rd=>something with a new PXO account...
In the Option ive chosen the PXO settings with my FS2.NET account data.
ok i think ive found the problem:
if i open my "launcher.exe" i get this message: "Failed to read flag file"
-
Open your Launcher6.ini file in notepad and post the contents.
-
#
# DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE
#
[launcher]
exe_filepath = C:\games\FreeSpace2\FS2.exe;
-
Delete it. Make sure you pick one of the FS2_Open executables when you run it this time. You've actually picked the original retail exe.
-
deleted-.-
nothing. :sigh:
Failed to read flag file
-
You've deleted the file and the launcher does that immediately when you run it or only after you click the browse button and pick a build?
Cause you're supposed to select fs2_open_3_6_9.exe and you're somehow selecting fs2.exe instead.

ive set the fs2_open....exe in the options which open themself directly after launching the launcher^^
omg my english teacher would kill me

You did install OpenAL, right? www.openal.org
-
no^^
whats that?^^
-
You need OpenAL for the sound to work. It shouldn't be causing the crashes you're getting but since you'll have to install it anyway you might as well.

hey thanks, it works
hmm... i see just one server... is this normal?^^
-
You'll only see servers for people who are currently hosting. I usually host every Sunday from 3:00-7:00 (GMT) in the morning.
-
I should be able to host in about 20 hours' time... (around 3 or 4 in the morning, GMT time... 11PM at night, EST (GMT-5) time.)
-
hmmm????
"You have been rejected because your game is not in an appropriate state to accept"
-
That is a bug ... in-game joining isn't working... you have to join at the start of the game... or make your own.

Should I add that to the calendar?

lol
Ya, I will be able to host in about half an hour, I think... Tantalus is hosting right now.
