A new sign for petrol stations in the UK. For some reason I find a sign saying "Don't commit crime!" extremely funny. Hot linked from the BBC News website.

That's an interesting thing. I also liked "Don't trust your gps".

In Manchester we have signs that are basically a picture of a bobby with the slogan "Don't even think of committing crime in this area!!". Bet that's got the nutcases ****ting their pants.

A few years ago they started plastering a picture of a sappy-faced State Policeman on the fuel pumps after numerous 'drive offs' prompted by price hikes. Now, your license gets revoked for a minimum of a year if you don't pay.
Hell, If our gasoline prices were anywhere near the UK equivalent, no one would have a license.
To fill up my tiny car with its meager 12 gallon (what, about 55 litres?) tank would be somewhere around $113. As it is, I might pay as much as $35.
The sad thing is, the prices are STILL inflated.

Yeah but remember that a lot of the problem with dollar to pound conversions is the stupidly low value of the dollar in comparison to sterling. ~$90 is a better figure for how much it would cost you in real terms if prices were inflated as much as they are in the UK.

Dont trust your GPS. I have been around enough of them to see that they do fail. Use a map and compass to nav and only double check with your GPS.

What is scary is that GPS is good enough for bombs :)
I guess thats a military GPS network but still.
