The "McLaren Mercedes" Is Punished.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/6991147.stm
After a long period of shame, the FIA inflicted a severe penalty. The McLaren lost all of its points and has virtually lost the Championship. Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, however, kept their points and are still able to win the Drivers Championship.
The McLaren was also forced to pay a consistent amount of money:
The team was also fined a record $100m (£49.2m), which includes any prize and television money they would have earned from the constructors' championship.
I didn't like the situation either a bit. It was a shame. I have discussed the subject a lot, the fact that the McLaren became a strong team after 2 years of void and without apparent changes made us suspicious.
The Ferrari has virtually won the Championship, but this victory is comparable to Inter's one after Moggi's Calciopoli. :doubt:
-
If it were Ferrari you know they would have gotten away with it. F1 is too political nowadays.
-
I don't want to turn it into a Flame War, but...
I really have to say that I no longer respect Hamilton. In the last Gran Prix, he cheated. The problem is different, no one wants to accuse him. Why? Because he is "The English Pilot In The English Team". Just look at Alonso, he will surely change team in the next year.
There always are problems when both the car and the pilot are of the same nationality. :doubt:
-
 Ferrari's victory in McLarens punishment is like Inter Milan's gain after Juventus were relegated. But I wonder if Ferrari can make use of this in the future.

Seems a bit hard to me unless its more to it like it said in the article

Mobius, could you please name your thread titles in English? It's getting quite annoying not really knowing what the thread is about when reading the title.

There's a secret meaning in your post.

I forgot to add the translation. And I still don't have a related user title.

One does not ask for a specific user title.
-
Cause one won't get it. But might get something far worse.

(have to say the guy who made this, did a good job  )

And Felipe Massa? :doubt:
Humour is the best way to joke about something like this or the English press might lose its reputation :doubt:

F1 sucks and Football(soccer) sucks too, too much faking and cheating going on, it was way better in ye olde days

"Too much faking and cheating" in Formula One? :wtf:
It has always been a serious sport. The McLaren had problems in the last two years and cheated. Someone discovered the truth and the McLaren is now ****. Simple.
It doesn't mean the whole championship is cheated!
Football is something different. It sucks because football players suck. They're all ignorant and they aren't good examples for teenagers(in fact, football is important in both the UK and Italy :doubt:).

Puh-lease. Ferrari have been "bending the rules" for years. Remember when Traction Control was banned and they were caught with a system that cut engine power under low-traction situatuions ? "No, no, not TC" they said. "okay then" says the FIA.
What really gets up my bum is the selective technology banning. Toyota develops a hot V12 and they are suddenly banned under the V10 only rules voted in by the other teams. More recently Renault develops the inertia-thingy-in-the-nose-gizmo and it's banned for no real reason.
F1 is too popularist too. Any other team then Lewis Hamilton's and they would have been given the boot. But LH is the Big Nametm and they can't really ban him when he brings in the punters eh ?
That's why Schumey could decide World Championships by shunting Dameon Hill and trying to shunt Villenueve (sp?).

And how can I forget Ron Dennis, always ready to condemn any kind of modifications? There's something that goes beyond the rules. People make pressure so that certain "mods" can be banned. The most obvious reasons are about safety, but I'm not an engineer so I can't decide if a mod is ok or not.
As for Lewis Hamilton, I can write lines about the way the UK treated him. I heard of a Biography, which is going to be released soon. This is exaggerated. With all due respect, I don't think he has something useful to say. He turned out to be a cheater, saved and re-saved just because many of the judges are of English origin.
I would blame their racism and arrogance, not the Formula One.
