I've been wondering: is it possible to deactivate cbriefing music? I've been looking in FRED, but did not find anything ;)

You want it to play in the briefing but not the command briefing or you don't want to play it at all? Cause if you mean the latter then you could simply have a soundtrack called silence and give it a silent sound file to play.

the latter, 'cause the mission has no briefing at all. So, what should I do? :)
EDIT: like having a briefing music, which has an empty wav file assigned?

I'm trying to remember what happens if you don't pick a soundtrack in the briefing editor at all. IIRC that should result in nothing but silence.
If it doesn't, a soundtrack with a an empty wav should do it. The game won't care that there is no actual sound as long as the file exists. Even though the mission has no briefing it should still save your chosen soundtrack to the mission file and play it in the CB.

If no briefing music is selected a music track is still played. Adding an additional briefing track with an empty.wav does the trick. :)
Thanks for the nudge in the right direction :D

FreeSpace goes for default soundtracks.
And I <obviously> agree with Karajorma. You need a "sound with no...sound"(:P) for that effect.

a "sound with no...sound"(:P)
I got it, I got it :D

I think there's one in Transcend's main VP. :)
