Title: Problem with nameplates
Post by: Retsof on September 27, 2007, 03:22:10 pm
I read the Freespace Wiki about how to do nameplates, and used the green background with stop font method, and I saved it as a pcx,... but for some reason it says it can't find the file.  I saved it in the maps folder.  What did I do wrong, or is it just a glitch?

Did you use the texture-replacemnt method in FRED to put it on a ship?

Is hte Pcx 8 bit? Is hte background pure green (o, 255, 0)?

I'm pretty sure the color is pure green, Yes I used the texture replacement thing, and how do you make it 8 bit, it only says pcx.

Yeah, what rogram are you using to make the pictures?

REgarless which one it is, get IrfanView, open the picture and select DECREASE COLOR DEPTH, set it at 256 colors and save it...

I used Photoimpression4, I think I have some other programs that I haven't tried yet.  How do I get the other one and is it free.
